So... I kno this is really getting ahead of things, but depending where the iles finish, should Ottawa consider trading up with one of those aforementioned 2nds ? |

I guess it depends on who’s still on the board and how many picks he’d have to give up, to move up.
Even into the 2nd round there are some really nice gems |

Dorion said after 20th there is a drop off but still good prospects until pick 60-65.

Dorion needs to sit down with him and tell that he needs to suck this year and that next year he can be good.... |

Ya I think I’d agree with that.
There’s so many good forwards this year, that it will push a lot of the good dmen back (because the forwards group is a little better this year). So it’s possible depending on where the isles pick lands..Dorion snags a really good D
Next year, outside of Raty, if the Sens continue to suck, that’s the year they could get a blue chip dman |

SJS sharks next 3: Phi (yay), NJ (NO!!!), PIT (yay)
OTT will finish 5th and SJS 6th, will drop down by at least 2 spots so will pick 7th and 9th OA. Both picks will be 3rd liners... |

So sad. Everyone seems to be ignoring you. You don't seem to be very good at this trolling thing. Perhaps I can help by pretending to be offended by something you posted. How about, maybe you are right and Ottawa messes up and drafts third liners.

there is a huge difference between being a pessimist (which he is) and being a troll....which is what you do on the leaf threads.

the players on the ice don't care about the tank......they aren't going to lose deliberately.
personally, i'm glad they're still playing hard. the team is talented enough to win a lot of games, but i'm glad to still see the young guys playing hard and trying.......you can lose games, without creating a culture of losing |

Obviously dependent on where the pick lands, but with the Sharks 1st, I would love to see the Sens target Drysdale. You can never have enough blue chip D prospects.
That said, if the hockey gods so decide to give the Sens the 1st and 2nd overall picks, after Lafreniere, do the Sens take Byfield or do they target another player?

the 1st and 2nd picks, regardless of who had them, should be Lafreniere and Byfield......Lafreniere is the CLEAR #1, Byfiled is the unanimous #2 (although not as clear cut as Lafreniere at 1) and then it's pretty much a crapshoot from 3-10 (crapshoot referring to the order, not the talent of the players) |

I spent many years as a Leaf fan. I have strong opinions about their success and failings. I have no difficulty with expressing my thoughts.
When I say the Leafs made a mistake in signing Tavares or trading Kadri, it is because I believe it. The fact, that I said when it first happened is reality.

You can't discount the fact that he's one of, if not THE youngest player in the draft. If he was born a month later, he'd be in next year's draft, and likely be considered the consensus #1.
He had a poopty world JR, but I'm not that concerned- he's going to be a great player, and he's a huge C. #1C's are tough to find.
I think some of the players around him have increased their value with play (specifically Stutzle), but Byfield should still go in the top 3. |
