I dont know what to think anymore.
the eyes say the Leafs have been awful and give up 35 breakaways a game.

@AndrewBerkshire
In February per 60 at 5-vs-5 the Leafs are giving up the 7th-fewest slot passes, 7th-fewest rush passes, 24th-fewest inner slot shots, 14th-fewest slot shots, 3rd-MOST deflections on net, 7th-fewest one-timers, 5th-fewest rush chances...

Andrew Berkshire
@AndrewBerkshire
17th-fewest cycle chances, and 8th-fewest rebound chances. Overall they've been significantly better defensively than usual, though they still have some serious issues at play. This looks more like Freddie struggling to me, especially with lack of passes.

Andrew Berkshire
@AndrewBerkshire
As for xG, in the UI I have access to I can't separate out for and against for teams and also can't pick date ranges, but season-long at ES the Leafs are at 53%, which is only behind Carolina, Vegas, Boston, and Tampa.

For the dubie haters.

Worth noting that every trade the leafs have made under Dubas has either brought in younger players than the guy that was shipped out.....OR been as significant upgrade by a positional need.

Saw the above on the tweeter.

Marleau to Pitts for a 3rd? A facking 3rd. UGH!!!!!!

Ya I know he doesnt come with 6m cap hit....but DAMMIT.

Chris Johnston says he's heard the Florida Panther's ownership has given management a directive to cut 10M in salary next year. YIKES

As poop as it can be to be a leafs fan sometimes at least we don’t deal with that bs.

Reminds me of the Expos in the years leading off to their departure.

Whenever they started drafting good young players, they always had to give them away when it was time to pay them.

I don't get why you'd cheer for a team that has owners like that. Hence why we lost the team.

I'm going to argue on a technicality...

Moore was younger than Campbell and Clifford.... apologies for being a dyck.

Dubas has to move Barrie for something/anything at this point - Stecher would be fine.. a serviceable defensemen with a pulse - as opposed to getting nothing and keeping him in the lineup.

Then why the fack would they sign Bob at that cap, just to do this the following year?

Apparently management will do nothing, after the terrible play the past few games. I don't really understand that, how not making any moves to change a roster that needs it, is considered a plan.
- bartsch

don't be so sure. it's working out gangbusters here in Montreal.

Could be worse.

For twenty years, the Leafs would trade away good, young, cheap players for overpaid, over-the-hill vets.

I don’t know why I cheered for a team that had management like that.

Hence why we lost 20 years.

"OR been as significant upgrade by a positional need."

I think the consideration there is that Campbell was a significant positional upgrade over what they had.
