To be fair to - matty12345 - he is right, we don't have tons of cap room, but we could trade anyone of the players and improve that. So we have more options than cap room.

I tend to feel that it is Risto on Montour. One or the other next year. Can't pay both.

I think you will see Asplund, Cozens, Mittlestadt (whats his next contract look like?) up with Sabres, so those will be rookie (minus Mitts) contracts, so that helps. So we should be in decent shape this offseason, but have lots of work to do.

Yes he is based on resigning everyone that he palced into the post. In retrospect, I should have used flexibility with some cap space.

Saying Risto for Malkin does not count. Has to be a deal we all heard about that he could have done.

I kinda wanted Namestnikov, but could leave it as well (4th round pick).

How about dumping players for picks? That is how we are here in the first place, we dumped too many players when tanking and building back up is taking a long time (as well as finding more top end players).

Edit: I liked AA, but for (2) 2nd round picks, no thanks. He could still be signed as a UFA if available, but I would worry about how much $$ he will be able to command.
