Would you rather have that or frolik on the 2nd line?
I mean for a player we got virtually for free. I would take simmonds half dead over frolik 10 out of 10 times - Sabretooth9
Having frolik and Simmonds in the line up definitely adds leadership down the stretch run.
Frolik can still turn it around |

Frolik might be a healthy scratch or bumped down to a more manageable role.
A lot of time in the nhl roster management comes into play. Are you slotting players correctly.
Like mitts at 2C. He couldn’t do it Johnsson at 2C. Not really his thing vesey in a bottom 6 role and not with joke.
Frolik on the 3rd line is slotted in a more advantageous spot that the 2nd line RW |

Late to the b&tch fest. But i was pleasantly surprised with the way the last 72 hours have gone. No more Bogo, no more EROD and no more Sheary. We get some sorely lacking grit and a young Top 9 forward who is making $925K/year. We shed a bunch of salary and got rid of the malcontents.
A solid B+ IMO. |

If you're going to make millions of dollars do you eat right or eat all the fastfood in the world
That's why in the Off season it's time to relax I've seen him eat like 6 hamburgers 1 time - gerbe75pts
I’m going to eat whatever the (frank) I feel like and everyone else can piss off.
You know what for lunch tomorrow I’m getting a burger and washing it down with a dr. Pepper. |

They need to get 5/8 minimum on a tough road trip.
2-1-1.
These were 2 solid trades in my opinion.
Glad the log line is still intact |

sticks up for team mates
will probably be another brett connolly, which I would love on this team for the middle 6 - homiedclown
Skinner is having a horrible season
Ritchie is on pace for a career best 16 goals
He’s a 3rd liner |

We can't have set the bar so low that Botts is getting points for trying to make a trade. The job description is basically to make trades, draft players, and sign players. You don't get credit for trying to make a trade.
I mean, if I was named GM I'd be trying to trade for a 2C too. Unless I actually get a trade made, it means nothing.
I don't like Trocheck as much as most of you, but if you're going to try to make a trade, you have to be able to pull it off. |

Holy S, ROW is no longer first standings tiebreaker, didn’t realize RW’s are now tracked separately. Kruegs May need to yank the goalie early in game 82 vs Philly to get the game to the garage in regulation. That shouldn’t be a problem. Leafs got 2 more RW’s than Sabres as of now. Panthers way out in front in RW’s 5 more than Sabres. Need Panthers to self destruct as much as the Leafs. Fasten your seatbelts Bills Fans. |

I’d rather him make the Risto/Montour move in the offseason when it will be easier to make a hockey deal and not force a move. |

They got a player under team control beyond this season to help now. A player whos been sticking for 2 seasons now
On what planet is that worse than waiting 3 years to see if your 3rd round pick has a chance to amount to anything, then waiting another 2 years to see it through - ieetbred
Not the point, but whatever.
Glad you got that off your chest though! |

Yeah me too, but I'm also not the one saying they're glad Botteril tried to get Trocheck.
He's tried to trade a defenseman for a year now. Has he? Until it happens, he doesn't get credit for making calls. The sabres have put out this image that the gm is doing thousands of hours of prep work for trades. Just make a damn trade. Do it, and get some credit. Or don't, but then don't look for sympathy because you 'had conversations'.
It's ridiculous. Yoda and JP Losman taught us the difference between doing and trying. |

Do we?
Not if we are bringing back Vesey & MoJo
Olofsson-Eichel-Sam
Skinner-_____-_____
MoJo-(Cozens?)-Vesey
Girgs-Larsson-Okposo/Lazar
And where would Asplund, Mitts or Tage slot in?
I’d prefer line3, wouldn’t you??? |

You’re right.
But the narrative has been for months that he’s not actually trying to make deals and it’s just lip service from Dreger. That’s obviously not the case |

Would be interesting to see what Sabres actual offer was, and it would have taken to get Florida to bite. What was the delta?
At $4.75m for 2 more season would have been the perfect add to this roster.
Seems silly to me to quibble over a little bit for a good fit and good player.
Botts just loaded a poop ton of pressure on himself for the offseason to squeeze a 2C from somewhere. |
