I'll bite. 2 roster players and 2 prospects.
Obviously, Buffalo is not giving Eichel or Dahlin.
What is Buffalo giving that makes Florida not only say "I like this return better", but also, "what are you going to pay me for keeping him in the division?" - buffalofan19
Marcus Johansson Jimmy Vesey and two prospects gets it done |

No way he would give up 2 players and 2 prospects for him. - SABRES 89
That’s the value of a #2 Center. Only Botts is too dumb to give one away ourselves and get a crap return. |

Kaliyev was. - toddkac

But im circling back to what I had said that at-least he went and made the team his own. He went for it... it didnt work out but at least he went for it - hubie
I understand what you're saying. And I also think that Botts looked at how weak not only the NHL roster was, but the AHL and the pipeline of prospects. Thought a methodical approach would be better. Which is fine if you hit on your picks. Which is why he's linked to Mitts and Cozens where Murray is linked to EK9 and ROR. |

Both Lavoie and Kayilev were expected to go in the first round.
Johnson was not.
Its really not that hard.
Kayilev was as high as 15th overall on some boards. |

IM 99% sure eveyone had Johnson as a reach - hubie
A 10 spot reach I think it came out to be. So if you want your guy, and you're not picking until the 3rd round.. it's not that bad. If we had a 2nd, you might see a different player drafted at 31. |

Its not really subjective, its consensus and lets not be arrogant or stupid.
Johnson was not BPA and you clearly didn't watch the draft. - toddkac
Ha (frank) off. You're kidding right? Look at 10 different scouting rankings and you'll see 10 wildly different variations of picks 20-44. Talk about not being arrogant or stupid |

Im sure its a lot more than 10 spots
but youre right one list can be drastically different than another. Happens in every sport like that. |

Besides Cozens they have zero top forward prospects though. I'd rather see them draft a forward prospect because they have such a hole in the system. Johnson might be good in a few years but he's not seen as a great defensive prospect. |

It would have taken more. Buffalo is in Florida's division, and that ups the price. |

11. Eetu Luostarinen, C, 21 (Charlotte Checkers)
Luostarinen recently eclipsed the 200 pro games plateau, which speaks to the experience he has playing against men already, and the success he has had in Liiga and the AHL. He’s not a game-breaker but he has proven he can be a contributing forward at the pro level who has size and skill. He also has more room to grow and fill out which could add some more power and scoring ability to a solid two-way game as playmaking big man. He’s the kind of player who could play lower in the lineup and take advantage of soft minutes or play higher in the lineup as the third-best player on a good line.
Priskie's a decent D prospect.
Wallmark is Evan Rodrigues. Haula is the a middle 6, fragile C/LW
This package could so easily be matched to acquire a 2C. - TheSabresTaco
They have better C prospects in there system, wonder if a C prospect was a must in the deal for Florida. |

It's clear the Panthers wanted to add defenders and it's a joke that Botterill wasn't more aggressive on trading away our only assets to acquire a dire need. |
