I doubt they’re talking big $ for Simmonds. He knows where he’s at, made his money and not will be a 1-2 M player from here on out. If he’s still a force out there (muscle) that’s something this current team did not have.

This is isn't a good rationale. The people that simply go with the market are rarely better than average. The really successful ones are the ones that find the pieces that the market doesn't recognize. Pageau wasn't that.

Ive fought the JGP battle.

Never liked his regression of stats year over year.

He produces in a contract year.

Giving up a 1,2,3 is insane for him. That's basically an entire draft.

If the Sabres are giving up a 1,2,3 i want them to get a hell of a lot more that Pageau in a trade back.
