I wonder how much in bonuses he is going to earn. They have just under $800k to play with according to Cap Friendly, and he's got a max $2.85 million he can earn.

They're going to have to absorb some of it next season.

Why were they trying to trade Barrie??? i haven't watched the Leafs very close but I thought Barrie was a HELLUVA get in that Kadri deal... has he been that bad for them or is it just strictly that he is a pending UFA and wasn't extending?

Well they should already be confident with 5/6. And it's not like the impact players were Sheary or E Rod. Brought back better players then both of them. Don't see how the room doesn't view this as a positive.

That's something that is still to be determined. Simmonds has declined sharply over the past few years, and Kahun has been riding shotgun with Malkin, so we have yet to see how good he really is.

Still, I am okay with it, not enthralled, but okay.

After these trades we have a good buffer between the cap this year and where we are at. I think they can fit all the bonuses in this year. CF is showing bonuses of 6M and change with 9M and change in space.

He's a defender, so his point totals don't mean much if he's giving up more back defensively.

Guys shooting percentage this year was 1.6 had 27 goals last year, probably out the rest of the year with a should we injury though, RFA this summer

The Sheary/ERod deal was the one I was expecting.
The Simmonds one I was not.
So, JB did more than I was expecting.

Simmonds trade was confusing but we didn’t really give up much of anything.

Getting Kahun was good asset management in my eyes compared to what Ottawa got for both Ennis and Namnitsnikov.

Muzzin’s cap hit is disgusting.

I think I’m lower on Trocheck then most here, he hasn’t been the same since the injury but I figured he’d get more then what Carolina gave up. I’m interested to see if we got close or not but I’m not losing sleep over it.
