I think the positivity bleeds into the room and gives the kids the vote of confidence they need - whether they can move up enough to get in this year the effort to get there will be as important in the long term as the results.

Agreed. He didn't make a massive splash for buying, but he was able to move some UFAs for an RFA and get a player that could potentially help us. I still think it comes down to this offseason though. If we can get a 2C (even a short term stop gap one), I think it will go a long way for player development and a playoff push.

So Botts got a grizzly vet with snarl and not much skill and a young kid with skill for Erod(wanted out) and Sheary(wasn't ever finding his place). I think this gives the room some confidence.

I don't hate it for a 5th round pick at 50% retained. I don't like it, but I'll give it a chance. He scored 17 last year between 2 teams, 24 the year before. Not a great year this year, but we'll see if he can turn it around at all.

We didn't add money. We chose a player who was going to have to take that spot anyways next season in Kahun. It's not like we are just gonna dress 16 players now that Sheary and E Rod are gone.

Yes and no. Rodrigues and Sheary would have needed to be replaced anyway, either by trade or UFA. They chose trade.

I think this pretty much means they intend on signing Vesey. No way they don't trade him if he planned on walking.

Well they should already be confident with 5/6. And it's not like the impact players were Sheary or E Rod. Brought back better players then both of them. Don't see how the room doesn't view this as a positive.
