Hell... If we made a trade for a guy that got us into the playoffs I'd be happy. Even if that guy couldn't play for us, at least it gets us there.

Money was going away regardless at the end of the year. Ownership doesn't care about that as long as we are under.

No, we added a player for the future while giving up players that were going away

Not to mention clearing up cap space this year to not dig into next year with bonuses for players on ELC

Botts did a good job here

If there was any doubt that Botts is our guy next year that doubt is gone.

I like his work today.

I think the positivity bleeds into the room and gives the kids the vote of confidence they need - whether they can move up enough to get in this year the effort to get there will be as important in the long term as the results.

if it gets skinner away from sheary i am happy... at least for now till we see what we have in Kahun

From what I've read online... his passing ability and game in transition is some of his best assets. He is a good body size guy that was only really playing Wing because of how well down the middle Pitt is. His shot is above average. He is around 50% on the dot but is viewed as an area that he will still improve.

Kahun scored 206 points in 30 games in a 16U german league. I mean, it's meaningless, but it's kinda awesome.

Carolina was able to get around its cap issues using LTIR.... So the 'Canes acquire both Skjei from Rangers and Vatanen from NJD to shore up their injured blue-liner. What a day for the Hurricanes when you also consider getting Vincent Trocheck
