Realistically it’s a nothing trade. Maybe trade one of our other forwards for a better pick.

I love conditional picks. I can see why the Sabres making the playoffs is a condition. It would make the draft pick worse. New Jersey doesn't benefit at all whether or not Simmonds plays 10 games.

I don't hate the trade. Value is fine IMO. I just don't really think this is really going to do much of anything to the team. If he played C, I'd be more ok with it.

I did not like it at first blush but I am fine with it, adds grit and some scoring on the wing.
