I don’t get the hype around Krieder ...... I hope the rangers overpay him and look dumb - Sabretooth9

No reason to trade for a winger unless you get a 2nd line center. - SABRES 89
Tank can drive his own line though. |

If you're talking about Trocheck, he's a 3C on any team resembling a playoff one. - buffalofan19
He'd be our 2nd line center and frankly it's not even close |

4 points last night and he's not that old. - SABRES 89
30 years old with 4 years left on a deal with pays him just south of $6 million per year.
They can't afford to make that deal right now in season. After July 1st, maybe. |

Right, because Buffalo is not a playoff team, with him or without him. |

A tweener 2C/3C counted on to be a full time 2C doesn't make us a good team, though. |

we have a 1st line center and about 4 4th line (or worse) centers. it wasn't much of a competition |

20 games left, not really a big deal now or in the offseason. |

30 with a 5.825 cap hit for the next 4 years, averages around 45-50 points a year. Not terrible but I'd rather that cap hit lower for that term or his age be mid 20's |

I'm saying I'm not sure they can do it cap-wise in season. In the offseason, with so much coming off the books, there's no question they can if they want to. |

Exactly
Even if they would have won 2 games against Ottawa their upcoming schedule is BRUTAL |

He brought in Frolik. Were you expecting more? - PrinceChill
Gotta maintain focus in the here and now. Live in the present is the consistent message throughout the organization. Botts says it, Kruegs says it, the players say it. Unless you're somewhere in Europe, it's not 3 PM yet. Plenty of time.
Serious question. Do you think Botts gave any thought to the ramifications of the Seattle Expansion Draft? It was actually rhetorical because the answer is of course not. That might as well be next decade when living in the here and now. |

Is it just me,
or did Florida just get a pretty weak return for Trocheck?
Haula has been good when healthy, but he’s a UFA
And the rest of the guys seem like depth level quality from what i know of them |

He's got as many 5v5 goals as Reinhart, one less than Eichel this year |

Kreider 7-year extension official. Haven't seen term yet, though.
EDIT: Stripes apparently found it. |

Also worth pointing out Florida isn't measurably better than we are.
I know 2C is a need, but I'd rather add a second line wing who is good than a 3C and call him a 2C. Give me a 50-60 point guy and I can have Larsson or Lazar or Mojo center him and Skinner and I'll be closer to good than with some 10 goal center. |

Unfortunately centers cost, I agree on the age. |

I disagree. They're six points back of a playoff spot, if they could get a center in here who could get Skinner going, they'd have 2 complete lines for the first time in years. Not saying he's long term best option at 2nd line center but I don't see any other options there till Cozins is ready in 2-3 years for 2nd line duties. Take what you can get... |

He's not good enough to make up 6 points in the standings in a month, not with this roster. |
