Cheap. Won’t break the bank and is a fine 4th line player. - Barnaby36
Dude sucks. He’s legit a replacement level player. Probably have better guys in the minors. |

You mean like Shultz, Simon, Kahun for Trocheck? - nateca44
Sure, why not. I was thinking more of a one for one |

3rd round pick for Marleau
Meh. I was expecting a 4th and no name prospect... but a 3rd sounds reasonable.
No picks until Round 4 now for the Penguins. |

They could get picks back today or in offseason.
Personally I dont care much for the picks right now. |

They're looking for more of a scorer, I believe. They already have a good defensive bottom 6 line. If the plan is for McCann to center this line a skilled LW like Marleau makes sense. |

That’s good for a third. I like the trade. Marleau can still play. Better than Sheary for a 4th or lower in my opinion. |

Ruth is really setting a pattern of west coast trading lately. Will know for next year to armchair scout rosters. |

Agreed, solid pick up and his experience in the cup finals doesn’t hurt (not that we need it) |

I’d turn Bjug and Murray into picks at the draft. |

While you say that they’re production is nearly identical the last two years lol |

An ovechkin fart won’t blow Marleau off the puck though. |

Sure but I think Marleau’s skill set fits current team needs more and I think the “win one for Marleau” factor is a valid tie breaker to pay a bit more for him than Sheary. |

Haven't seen Marleau play at all this year. Does he have anything left in the tank? I guess unlike Cullen he's not really blocking a younger better player from playing up. |

Pick becomes a 2nd if we win the Cup. I think we could all live with that |

You could probably say the same for his leadership. Not sure we needed it, but it's a plus.
If Kahun is back, Marleau-McCann-Lafferty is much more playable than what we've been using and that's what matters. |

I agree.
I still feel strongly we need a true top 6 wing but that doesnt seem to be in the cards. Simon doesn't belong there, Kahun has been battling injuries, Rust is cooling down, McCann is better at center.... |
