The thing with Strome is hes a product of playing with Panarin. Without Breadman he is mediocre. |

Yeah, but how will Strome be without Panarin. That worries me - mdw7413

TDA and Strome might eat up quite a bit, but let's not forget if Kravstov is ready next year, we have Buch, Kakko, Kravstov, and Gauthier as your RW and on the left Panarin, kreider, Lemeuix, and whoever sticks on the 4th as LW. I'd say our roster would still be pretty set. - 2sticks1puck
I'd rather Fast over Lemieux. He really hasn't done much of anything for awhile |

He didn’t have Panarin and was still pretty good last year. You can say that about anyone playing with Panarin though. |

Rangers have now traded to Carolina:
Brady Skjei
Joey Keane
Two 2nd rd picks
and received:
Adam Fox
Julien Gauthier
1st rd pick
And we went 4-0 vs them this year |

Lemieux looked great last season but now he is just an agitator. I thought he had more skill. |

Yeah, but Chytil should be the 2nd line center real soon. |

I was of this opinion for most of the season, but I am starting to change my tune.
Strome was effective last year before he had The Wizard to play with. And in the last couple months, a lot of the time it is Strome making a nice play to get the puck or get into a position to involve Artemi in the play. IMO, for what that's worth. |

I get it that they may want and need Staal to play now but there is no way they can keep Strome and TDA and fill out the roster without both Staal and Smith being let go.
Strome only has this season to measure against but he is outpacing guys like Nick Backstrom. I think if he agrees to a 5x5 deal you have to run with it.
No winning team ever complained about having too much center depth or a 2c/3c being able to score 60-70 pts. |

I agree.
I could see them going after Monohan. Strome and a first, maybe a prospect. But that kind of player. Top 2 center with more offense ability. Need to get a face off guy too, they suck on face offs still |

What if Chytil and Panarin don't mesh as well? I am pretty hesitant to say Panarin helping Strome is all that is going on. Panarin is having a career year too. |

Lemieux wont win championships but he's the kind of player you want on a championship team. Fast too, even moreso. They both wont make much $$ so keep them |

True, but I think Chytil is finally coming into his own and is way more skilled than Strome. Chytil was always supposed to be the #2. Don't want to pay Strome to be a 5 mill 3rd line center - mdw7413
I think they middle it between you and Pete. They'll try and sign him for 2-3 yrs @ $5.5 mil. If Chytil progresses, Strome isn't around forever/could be traded; and if Chytil struggles or is hurt, etc. Strome bridges the time until he's ready plus other prospects can be evaluated and/or Strome can be dealt. |

I agree with this. I think Strome, despite benefiting from playing with Panarin, has been good in his own right. I think we have another Brassard-type that sheds the early bust label in New York, and if they can get him for around $5 million per, I think he will outperform that contract.

Yeah, there is always that too, its why I wish they would give Chytil a shot before the season ends. I get they won't do it now because of where they sit though |

I was gonna get to this, we dont have good defensive center depth. We are terrible on faceoffs.
However I agree having too much center depth is never a problem, but it has to make sense. Chytl might have been groomed to be the 2C but personally Id rather he stay on the wing. |
