Things are quiet in the West. Wonder why COL, STL, DAL, VAN, VGK aren't making moves? |

Canes running out of cap space. They may have to LTIR Pesce or one of their goalies or a team trading them a goalie will have to retain salary. - boilermaker100
We can retain salary. |

I think so too and if someone wanted him bad enough, I think the Hawks should ask for the moon, kind of like you suggested above...first rounder and a high end prospect. - HawkintheD
That would be my asking price..... 1st round pick, top prospect and a 3rd or 4th line roster player....

Why not? the dude only makes 700k and will be a UFA at the end of the season - and what are the odds of the Hawks drafting anything good in the 3rd round?? odds say not.... Kovalchuk on the other-hand could have at least helped the team immediately..... I mean the Hawks aren't too far out of the playoffs....
It's not like Kovalchuk had 2 years left at 6 per..... 700k is absolutely nothing for what he could potentially provide. - Savard2Secord
You've asked this question many times, and in a first for this board, nobody agrees with you. |

Is Dale a seller? - LAHawk
He has a full length piece of paper with a long list of Panther players that Q hates. He definitely is selling and trading. But Trochek was a surprise to me. |

Down 3% on a market that is up 56% in the last 4 years. Chump change. Could be (and may get) much worse. But in the grand scheme of things still going to be ok. |

No concerns. A correction is overdue. That's how things work.
Now if Stan makes no trades today, watch the market really tank.

4 hours left and all is quiet in Chicago. Stans going to be left holding his _ _ _ k in his hands.
Purely speculation here but looking at the teams that had any amount of cap space to take on a Lehner contract or saad is looking slim at best now.
I think the team is being to gracious to the core in regards to personnel decisions and not wanting to rock the boat with the wholesale changes needed.
My example would be bring guys back like saad or Shaw to appease the core.

It's early in the day but I'm not feeling confident that Stan will make the most out of today's trade deadline and move out a few players to build this teams bench and depth for next year and the future.
Imo bringing Crawford back at 35 plus years old with a history of concussions and a weak defensive cast is fool's gold.
It would be one thing if Chicago had their next young net minder set to take over and Crawford was a backup simply to mentor and bring stability but as a starter please . If Colorado still is interested in Crawford I say make that deal - Taylorst1
Agreed.... Lehner is the future in goal unless one of the kids can prove otherwise, but Lehner is a legitimate starter so there is no gamble there...
I would have no problem signing him long-term at 7.5 per and even bringing Crow back as a backup at 1 per...... I mean that duo would be cheaper then than it is now...
Look, I could see Crow moved tho, I could see Gus moved as well - but I really just see Bowman staying pat - well unless he's willing to use our cap space to take on bad contracts from contenders that expire at the end of the season for picks/prospects - which would make a lot of sense because it would give contenders some cap space to work with to make deals....
IDK, it would just be a waste to waste 13M in cap space, especially when you're only 6 points out of the playoffs..... Bowman should do something with it to improve the team, now - in the future - or both....

It's the coronavirus, blame China for hiding it then not being transparent once it became known. Now today's sell off is based on Italy coming out with saying they have cases of the virus.
All these companies opted for cheap labor and high profits at the expense certainty. Bring those supply chains back to the US and lots of problems get resolved. |

Help them do what? They're all but eliminated from a playoff spot.
The team defense 3/4 into the season is still giving up a ton of SOG and high danger chances.
They still leave guys wide open in the slot.
They still can't play a complete 60 minute game.
And, the Hawks didn't even have #3 pick to give up since we already gave that (and a #2) for Shaw. |

Just heard on TSN Athanasiou is on the block. Speculation is the asking price is a second round pick or third plus prospect or two. I'd love to see him on the Hawks. Perfect depth piece with upside and fast as hell. Just what they need more of. Toews/Dach/Athanasiou up the middle would be pretty nice. |

On another Hawks subject, I really liked the game Carlsson played Saturday, looked more poised than 4K, engaged in board battles. |

The Hawks do not need another forward that has no hockey sense, we have enough of them already.
