Exactly. Saad is a better player so I think a first fits, then instead of the 2nd and 3rd, replace with top prospect, nearly NHL ready.

Saad for Top 2 or 3 prospect in system + a first you have to do it. Saad is a UFA after next year, may be the time to cash in. Since Saad would likely be going to a contender that first will be low, so the prospect HAS TO BE LEGIT, or Saad suits up in the Indian head next year.

And I LOVE Saad. Saad was a brilliant draft pick and was instrumental in helping the Hawks win 2 Cups. Glad we got him back. But this is a business and if moving him can help the long term viability of the Hawks you do it.

Huge price. My guess is that the Islanders were allowed to negotiate a new contract with Pageau in advance of the trade. So even though he is a rental they have an agreement or the general parameters on a new contract.

Perhaps the Carolina trade means they are going for it. If so, they still have needs.

Lehner is their most "valuable" trade chip, but the question is (much like with Gus) is does anyone want him.

In Lehner's case I think Colorado would really like him for this run. But, likely would want to have him even longer. Good forwards, good young D-man. Goalie seems to be the one piece they REALLY need to be Cup contenders the next several years.

I could see a deal here, with the "Bump up" in price if Lehner extends there, or if Avs go to Conference Finals or something like that. But, if Stan is asking for Byram and good picks , etc.....I can see Avs being reluctant. But, I see a fit there....if both sides can come together.

Haven't followed Byram this year, but imo the Avs would not trade him.
