Opportunity might not have been there. No way Vegas gives a 1st round for Lehner when they have a healthy Fleure for 2 more years.

Also, it hasn't been announced or seen on @TheAHL transactions, but it looks like D Lucas Carlsson will stay with the #Blackhawks the rest of the season. Needed to be send down to @goicehogs by 3 PM ET to play in AHL the rest of the season.

good for him, looked solid yesterday

He flipped two guys not in the long term plans for picks. What’s the issue?

If they signed lehner for 7-9 aav for 8 years and had to deal saad and or strome or debrincat then what?

Is what it is. They got something and now we can move along.

- SteveRain

Exactly, considering obtaining both were FA signings, all it cost was money (and for Gusto not very much)

So apparently Barclay Goodrow just landed the Sharks a 1st round pick...

IMO if Goodrow and Skjei are worth 1st rounders then Lehner certainly should have been as well.

- SimpleJack

Sounds like Tampa so it'd be one of the last picks of the 1st, but still damn that's crazy

The only difference with Lehner is that high end Goalies rarely get moved at the Deadline and if they do it's usually for a reason (I.E. pending FA and HIGH contract demands)

Malcom Subban is involved in the trade with the Chicago Blackhawks. Great insurance I’m goal for the Vegas Golden Knights with two number 1 goalies charging into the playoffs.

Do understand that, then why bring Crawford back, and go with a young goaltender instead?
- ChicagoHope

A good goaltender is an important part of a rebuild during the transition. It helps you evaluate the team playing in front of them. That was a big mistake of Edmonton, Toronto, Buffalo, etc...

ok...did not see vegas on the radar for lehner...

1. fleury has two years left
2. he is not going to play much behind fleury
3. why would would vegas want him as rental

odd fit for me...

i liked lehner...i know many here didn't ..yeah he had rough couple of week but entire team took a dive...

i wish him well and success and that the finds a hockey home long term...

- bogiedoc

Not odd

Fluery hasnt been consistent this year. I think jus dad died this year and he has admitted to struggling at times.

All the back ups have sucked for them this year

Very smart move by them

Insurance for next season if Crow leaves perhaps? Guess this probably shuts the door on Delia or Lankinen getting games in this year

Lets see if Waite can work his magic with Subban. The only time Hawk goalies have been subpar in the past several seasons was when Jimmy left for Montreal, and we had one year of Steve Weeks as the goalie coach, that was Crow's worst year in the NHL.

Agreed he showed some balls out there. Looks like he actually wants to be an nhler. maybe strome and nylander can learn from him.

- z1990z

Subban is a RFA next year. Trade his rights or extend him and let him fight it out at camp for the backup goalie position with Delia/Lankinen.

The question is who going to be the #1?. I still say Crow on a 35+ incentive laden contract.

We can argue back and forth about the performance, and some of the comments, but he certainly is a genuine guy:

Have we seen anything that states Boston is done? Official announcement could be delayed if saad was sent to Boston.

Blue check Murphy from Boston said bruins had asked about him....

ok...i was not aware of the vegas dynamics with fleury...ya just think that team looking for a long term number one would be the partner...but it looks like those teams (canes) didn't want to bite

So what prospect is coming in the deal? 2nd subban and ? If that's it bad return imo.
