They are done!! Gus will be it, and Lehner gone on July 1st. Crow resigns for 2 years at $2.5 million a season.
- ChicagoHope

If Lehner stays, I will be pulling for him to become a sieve for the balance of this season.

This Kane to Buffalo is theoretically possible. They have more cap space than they know what to do with for the foreseeable future. It's just a matter of dumping enough of this year's payroll to make it work.

Can you imagine the meltdown on this site if it were to happen.

We still have Nylander the Lesser, Zach Smith, 4K, Strome. Plenty of material to work with.

But why would he really want to go back to Buffalo after spending the last fifteen years here? lol I get he's from there, but I don't think he's pining to go home. It'd be another story if it was like the Rangers or something

Penguins fans really liked him too. I’m surprised at that move. And apparently Sheary isn’t the player he once was for Pens his first time there.
- SimpleJack

Sheary has been terrible in Buffalo

So good.

Did he get word that he's not being moved? Odd timing of the comment.

I am guessing a 4th which would also be fine. Conditional to a 3rd if they win their 1st round series.
- -Doh-

Conditional 7th that becomes a 6th if Calgary wins the Cup.

Agreed, Buffalo is not any closer to a cup than Chicago is.

Any chance Lehner ends up resigning in Chicago?

But that could be it - maybe he feels both teams are a few years away. His next challenge would be to bring Buffalo the cup if he has to go through growing pains in either place.

I think the likelyhood of that has increased. The market for him might be smaller than expected.

Ohh agreed I've always said that it's possible that he could go back home...but it's Buffalo lol I have a hard time after living in Chicago for as long as he has to then want to go back to Buffalo unless he's hell bent on helping them win a Cup finally
