I think if Chicago is being honest about the teams current and future situation and how they year after year have fallen even further back . The answer is yes , Stans irrational moves back in 16-17 trading panarin and hammer , reacquiring oduya , 4 weeks into a season firing a hall of fame head coach , to replace him with a inexperienced guy who is the same age as Seabrook with no proven history only to miss the playoffs 2 years with the new guy and the team looks lost.

Interesting the reason Hextall was fired from Philadelphia because the owners wanted more of a win now mode, while Hextall wanted for the youngin's to marinate in the minors until ready. Fletcher signed Kevin Hayes, that Hextall never would of done.

The importance of today was moving guys for picks/prospects. This Hawks team needs a serious reload in all areas. To do nothing shows elite level incompetence for a team on a 3rd year no playoff appearance run.

This is bad. There is this vacuum of stupidity coming from the front office and I’m not talking about Stan alone. It’s like they priced themselves out of trades to preserve the team so they can make a last ditch effort to make the playoffs, which they won’t make because they suck.

Now when the season is over, we will have to package sweeteners to dump players to make cap room to sign players we want to retain. So there goes Beaudin and Mitchell and whoever else because numbnuts McDingleberry can make a marketing statement.

That's not an answer. I'm not saying Stan should stay or go, but if you let him go, then it is a true rebuild and you might as well clean house after that. Is everyone prepared to do that? Cuz, I'd rather try to retool. If you fall to the bottom, good luck clawing and scratching back to the top (see: Red Wings, Detroit. Oilers, Edmonton)

While you make a decent argument , then you have to before you head down the full rebuild path fire JC first allow Crawford 20 games to see how this team responds . If they play better than it was a coaching issue more so if the results don't change than the problem is bigger and no tweaking will fix the issue immediately to preserve any chance of utilizing the cores last few years to make a difference.

I'm guessing a Conditional 4th that becomes a 3rd if the Flames make the Playoffs and he plays 10 games. Becomes a 2nd if the reach the Conference Finals and he re-signs
