Brian Burke has said that most mistakes are made at the TDL, I’d add to that that very few TDL deals are difference makers.

Interesting the reason Hextall was fired from Philadelphia because the owners wanted more of a win now mode, while Hextall wanted for the youngin's to marinate in the minors until ready. Fletcher signed Kevin Hayes, that Hextall never would of done.

In order for that to happen you have to have an owner with some balls actually knows what's going on with his team,and a team president that knows what's going on when it relates to the hockey world!

Really? The GM "won't be able to show his face" after not trading a slightly below average defenseman for a 3rd or 4th?

I get it. People like moves and to be involved in the party, but 1) both parties have to agree with the deal, 2) there needs to be cap space available in order for said move to be completed, 3) an offer isn't necessarily available/proposed simply because GM's/scouts consensus is that a guy could return X round draft pick.

I think if Chicago is being honest about the teams current and future situation and how they year after year have fallen even further back . The answer is yes , Stans irrational moves back in 16-17 trading panarin and hammer , reacquiring oduya , 4 weeks into a season firing a hall of fame head coach , to replace him with a inexperienced guy who is the same age as Seabrook with no proven history only to miss the playoffs 2 years with the new guy and the team looks lost.

The importance of today was moving guys for picks/prospects. This Hawks team needs a serious reload in all areas. To do nothing shows elite level incompetence for a team on a 3rd year no playoff appearance run.

That's not an answer. I'm not saying Stan should stay or go, but if you let him go, then it is a true rebuild and you might as well clean house after that. Is everyone prepared to do that? Cuz, I'd rather try to retool. If you fall to the bottom, good luck clawing and scratching back to the top (see: Red Wings, Detroit. Oilers, Edmonton)

I am not defending Stan at all here, but what offers were made? If they were offered crap for both Gus and Lehner and the Hawks just took it to make a deal, is that a good move?
