Maybe the Canes are trying to come to terms with Lehner on an extension before finalizing a deal. That could be a reason for the delay. If there is a deal I would expect it to be close to the deadline when either Lehner or the Cane's blink.

Not enough for Saad for me - a (probably) low first - low probability that the 2nd and 3rd would ever get here. And even the 1st would probably only be as good as Saad - cheaper, yes, and under control for longer, but probably not any better a player.

For Saad, I would expect 2 positions to be covered - a 1st and a good prospect.

Otherwise, I'm very good on keeping him.

My guess, is they don't like the prices out there and just decided to add a depth guy and roll with who they got. Idk why you wouldn't wanna add a legit #1 in a Lehner or King Henry when you got a team that can win NOW, but perhaps they did it because they're giving a Goalie up? Or they'r protecting themselves in case that becomes part of a deal? Idk lotta different reasons it could be. Lot of time left. We'll see

What I mean is, the fact that Stan hasn't moved either Gus or Lehner yet, could he be working on a larger move (not necessarily involving Sorokin), that brings back a more premium goaltending piece than expected?

What is strange at this point is he held gus out for 2 games and no deal announced yet. Why? Normally a player held out is moved quickly. The deal was done and announced.

1. Are buyers balking at Stan's price?
2. Is Stan going for a package deal or multiplayer multiteam deal.
3. Was there a deal and one side pulled out?

And still no rumors bout the hawks by Ecklund.

This all suggests nothing is close.
