Gotta say, Canes are great at trading for guys who are struggling with their teams. Nino, Dougie, and now Trochek. I'm sure there's another 1 or 2 I'm blanking on. Mrazek can be added to the list as a FA i suppose.

Decent move, and not a huge overpay. Makes sense for both teams.

Looking at Trochek, it’s hard to see how the Flyers would have added him without including including a roster piece or two. I don’t think he was a “sell” trade by Florida. That sounds more like a shake up move

Even if they make the playoffs, how far will Pageau push them? If their goal is to win a playoff round, then it's a decent trade. If their goal is to win the Stanley Cup, I don't think it's worth the cost because I don't think he's the piece they need.
