Last year, the sole move by the eventual Stanley Cup winning St. Louis Blues was to acquire Michael Del Zotto for a 6th round pick.

I have no problem with the moves. Maybe not as sold on the Thompson move, bc I’d like Farabee to stay in the lineup, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it.

Some teams are adding good players, but they are paying some of the most extraordinary prices I’ve seen (the Caps stole Kovy, kudos to them).

While I may disagree with MJL about whether this is the Flyers time or not, he was right about not going crazy today. I’d have been furious if they made the Pageau trade.

Farabee is a paper move. He won't be eligible for the AHL playoffs the Phantoms have zero chance of making if he wasn't sent down today.

So I have my employee-evaluation call today. My main question/concern for the call was asking for a raise. I'm told right off the bat I got a raise, then I learn the guy is huge flyers fan and just talked the deadline deals for the next 25 minutes

The Pageau trade and subsequent extension (especially with the clauses included) were pretty terrible. I'm glad the Flyers steered clear.

I think Carolina pulled off the best deal of the day in getting Trochek.

If the plan was to add without subtracting then these 2 deals are as much as I could have imagined. However, I am a little surprised that there wasn’t more AHL deals with the Phantoms since they are somewhat out of the playoff picture.

Disagree. I would say Ottawa, NJ, SJS, LA Kings, Anaheim, Montreal also have 0% chance as well. Montreal less than zero. Trading Thompson was officially waiving the white flag.

I wouldn't say terrible, but they were very expensive and not moves the Flyers had room to make because they added three high priced, quality pieces in the offseason. So to female doging about Fletcher not out bidding the Isles for Pageau is just bottom of the barrel trolling.

I hope it was for the amount you would’ve asked for. Otherwise this is a common technique for employers that know an employee is due for a raise in order for them to give you less.
