It doesn't. He wanted Trevor Kidd but Calgary scooped him up and the had to "settle" for their 2nd ranked goalie.

He also never traded for Stevens, Stevens was deemed proper compensation by an arbitrator after StL signed Shanahan. Stevens was so happy about the deal that he refused to report to camp and several of his teammates asked Lou to trade him.

No, I'm saying that 1) Brodeur was not the player he wanted and 2) he never traded for Stevens as you claimed he did.
