How about it what? The Isles needed another middle six center and had cap space. The Flyers don't.

But Lamoriello gave up a haul for a rental. He will complicate matters by overpaying.

Ridiculously childish and uncalled for. It's a hockey web site.

You think his posts actually have anything to do with hockey? It's just a boring troll job of whining about everything, even Kobe Bryant's wife.

How bout that JGP rental??

Actually I do. I've been quite a few times. Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Hoover Damn, Hawaii...

- PLindbergh31

If Fletch had signed JGP for 6 years you would be clamoring for his head on a platter

Also got a NTC for 2 years plus a partial NTC after

He gave up a lot in a trade for an undersized 3C. Fletcher got a 2C in free agency.

So? Ignore him! Nothing anyone posts is deserving of what you're implying.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has agreed to a six-year contract extension with the Islanders.

Massive overpay.

Pageau's 6-year extension has an AAV in the $5M range

Add in the movement clauses and it ranks right up there with Ladd and Clowe.

How does it rank with drafting Brodeur and trading for Scott Stevens? Omelette on Lamoriello's suit.

I love that, apparently, Eklund had been the first to break every single deal.

Him and Grant were my top 2 targets. Guess Fletch wanted to add a little size instead

Wait, you’re mad that they didn’t trade a first, second, and third and THEN gave him a 6 year deal worth $5 mill per year with a 2 year NMC, so he can’t be exposed in the expansion draft? For Pageau?

That is one of the worst flurry of activity I’ve seen on this day. And if they get Parise and that anchor, it should enough to get Lou fired.

It doesn't. He wanted Trevor Kidd but Calgary scooped him up and the had to "settle" for their 2nd ranked goalie.

He also never traded for Stevens, Stevens was deemed proper compensation by an arbitrator after StL signed Shanahan. Stevens was so happy about the deal that he refused to report to camp and several of his teammates asked Lou to trade him.

If it happens, I don't get the Parise move at all. Wonder what is going back, salary retention, etc.

I can’t remember, but did the Blues make any deadline acquisitions last year? I’m not saying we are the Blues this year and I don’t want to compare us to them, but blues hot streak started off in Jan last season. We’ve been top 10 in almost every category since January though...

No, I'm saying that 1) Brodeur was not the player he wanted and 2) he never traded for Stevens as you claimed he did.

The Devils first round pick from 30 years ago is super relevant to today's trade deadline. They're probably discussing it right now on TSN.
