Sergachev was obviously a good pick but he counts as much as McD would...
- muffin_man

Can't blame Timmins on that one.

Mete is ok I guess.

Too soon to make a judgment on the last few years.

But they need to do better there.

There have been a few other good picks... Getting an NHL D (Mete) in the 4th round who plays in the league at 19. Galchenyuk remains a good pick (I would have preferred Teravainen myself back then), amongst the most productive players of his crop, behind TT and Forsberg. It got the Habs Domi too.

Primeau was a tremendous pick in the 7th round. Fleury, Andrighetto.

Too few, way too few. But it's not all a dumpsterfire.

I have big hopes for KK, Brook, Romanov, Norlinder, Caulfield and Ylonen.

when you're namedropping Victor Mete and Sven Andrighetto you've lost the argument

i mean how is player development even up for discussion? how many Jordan Weals and Nick Cousins and Nate Thompsons and Ilya Kovalchuks and Xavier Ouellets and Brett Kulaks and Christian Folins and Dale Weises have to be scrounged up from the dumpster before people realize that this team has an issue developing talent?

Nice trade for the Caps lol. The Habs are such a relic. Used to be amazing like 30 years ago, now, no one outside of Quebec gives a $hit.

He made sense for them for a 3rd round pick.

At that price he made sense for most of the contenders, but eh.

Anyway, we all know that all the gems are in the 3rd round.

That's how fans must see it, really.

But with the market right now, I was hoping for a little more (2nd round pick).

I mean, Scandella got a 2nd +.

Yeah.

That and lately he was probably seen as a third liner more than a top 6 player.

Anyway, you get what you can get when a player is about to walk away.

well said. This is Bergy's legacy....yeah some good trades here and there...but the development has been brutal....and this is why we're in year 8 of a 5 year plan and counting.

... they wouldn't know what elite means even if it hit them in the face.
These bozos weren't even alive the last time the Leafs made it to the finals.

O-Dog blew a gasket, can you imagine how he feels after yesterday's Zamboni disaster? Poor guy is going to have a heart attack.

I make fun of them here and there, but I still can't believe what went down.

I mean Matthews, Marner, Tavares, they got skills.

Maybe they will learn that they need to work a little bit as well at some point. I don't know.
