Andersen wasnt that bad. 1 goal was bad.
- Fakepartofme

He allowed six goals against a team that works hard but is not a scoring team. He sucked ass. I thought Svechnikov should have been thrown out of the game for the hit on Barrie. The hit that Kerfoot was suspended for earlier this season was not nearly as bad and if Kadri makes that hit he's gone for 10 games minimum

He wasnt as bad the rest of the team, he was just ok. 1 bad goal, one goal by a teammate.
The rest of the team wasnt anywhere close to ok.
They were embarrassing.

But it matters not, I didnt expect the team to replicate that game against the pens. I figured they'd lose saturday night.....until the zamboni driver got in the pipes....then I thought they would win and it would be a nothing game.

Instead its made them the laughing stock of the league...again.

- Fakepartofme

He was bad. Don’t see why you always feel the need to argue with others that he was “ok” when he was clearly off his game.

No one is blaming Freddy. He was bad like everyone else. Simple.

I feel as if you have an issue with people calling out Andersen’s play because you see it as a way for fans to let the team off the hook...it’s not. Freddy was bad and so was the team. Both didn’t help eachother out. Both contributed to failure that game.

3rd highest in cap hit. I don’t think he’s even top-10 in cap hit percentage.

He’s worth every penny.

Trade Mitch Marner, please.

- Steven_Seagull

Marner won’t be traded either.

Give it up.

Lots of noise about Barrie to the Nucks....if Stetcher is part of it, hope there is a lot more..or they are just using them as leverage.

Stretcher isn’t that valuable.

I’d still like him because he could work out here. But he could easily be a UFA after the Leafs walk from him after he gets 3-4 million from the Arb.

Ya I doubt we see any type of shake up today.

Heck, I dont even see any type of major shake up happening in the off season either.
Now with that said, a lot could happen between now and then that might change the need for a major shake up.

But something doesnt seem right with this team.

I liked his game last year.

He’d be a decent stop gap and the whole trade would be about assets they can flip.

Stretcher would be added because of VAN’s cap issues.

The leafs don’t have those same cap issues because of AJ.

Would mostly be a throw in. Like Galy was for MIN.

Just look at the D and the chances we give up, not really too hard to figure out 🤷🏻‍♂️

Would rather see them just recoup picks.

They have to have so many Marlies in the lineup to compensate for the expensive top end that there is very little left in the system.

It makes sense, we would need to get an RHD back for Barrie.. We have no one that can replace him

Their prospect system was ranked 20th last time I checked.

Not bad for a team that has the core set. Wether you think they need to swap out a core player or not.

It’s not hard to fill other spots.

I agree with this. The point is that the superstars aren't executing like superstars. Matthews has been elite.

At 5v5, Tavares is -6 in goal differential; Marner is -5. If we want to throw his name into the mix, Nylander is +4. Again, in much the same situations, Hyman is +3.

Matthews, as noted, is +17.

We need more out of Tavares and Marner in particular, and to be honest, Nylander, too.

Any +/- metric has it's limitations, but again when compared to the team as a whole, particularly when you have an idea of the level of competition faced, it gives you a decent picture: Marner and Tavares are not executing at the level they are expected to execute at.

- Monkeypunk

I think it's time to put Marner and Tavares back to together again. Matthews doesn't need a playmaker at all at 5v5.

Nah, not really. That's McDavid.

Hell, even Draisaitl is better in this generation of players.

- JohnFergusonJr

And Eichel. He's better too.
