You so know he doesn’t write the headlines. The column stated likely moved. Maybe he is being fed into to see the reaction by the fan base.

If Neil Smith were still the GM, then YES. However, this regime doesn't care what Brooks writes anymore...

A few random thoughts:

I forget who was asking but the player caught in St. Louis with the hooker and the coke was Kevin Stevens.

Jesper Fast is worth more to this team than some of you think.

It just may be a good option to keep Kreider for the rest of the season and trade his rights before the draft. Who knows, a great playoff push and possibly winning a round....or two......might change both sides views a bit.

The Garden is already asking to renew season's tickets for next year. Looks like my bro and I are in for a 19th year. We are in Section 225.

Confessions: For a few years I wrote a regular column in the Blueshirt Bulletin called ""View from the the Blues".

no way, those trades barely happen anymore

when we traded Yandle's rights we got a 4th and a 6th

trading Kreider could acquire the final pieces to set this team up for the rest of this decade

two options only

sign him today or trade him by 3

It will be a sad day today if we trade Kreider. But probably for the best, guy has been streaky his entire career and he’s put together a good stretch the last couple of months but we’ve seen him do this before and then go invisible.

Agreed. If the reporting is accurate, 6 at 6--6.5 is fair and a win-win. A 7th year is a deal breaker. Also, there could be an issue with a NMC. Good news, we don't have to wait much longer.

Well he’s been a playoff performer in the past and he’s currently the hottest player in the NHL (among a couple of guys)...seriously, he goes invisible way less then people make him out to be

I’m so back and forth on Kreider. Jimmy is right we have never seen this type of consistency from him before. I would not go 7 years for a Kreider. I would do 6years. I wouldn’t go more than 6 mill per either. I think we are going to be forced to move him because of his demands. I think Gorton would love to keep Kreider but it has to make sense.

Yeah, I dont want to go past age 35 for him

I am confident he'd age well, his such an amazing conditioned guy

but 6 years is my limit too

I think 6x6 is worth it for him. But if he’s demanding 8x7.5 or something like that then Gorton’s gotta be able to walk away.

Yea I have a limit too. Mine may be higher then some, but I could go 7 if the hit is lower and just anticipate buying him out in year 7

The bottom line is this player may have finally hit his peak/prime now, and with Zib and Buch they have become an absolute force almost every shift for (frank)s sake. The PP hasn’t been this good since 1994! That would be very difficult to let go imo

They really need to just bite the bullet and keep him. This team is at a point where the rebuild has ended and contention is literally a season away. Like a top end contender. They could beat TB or Boston with Shesty in net right now, and Kreider is needed now probably more then ever because they’ll be making the playoffs this year with him, without him I don’t see it happening.

How far Kovy's value has dropped that he's only worth a 3rd.

He's actually put up a decent season this year. Him in Washington could actually be kind of scary.

Funny tidbit about Kovy: It's worth noting that not only is Kovalchuk about to join his third NHL club this season, but he's also counting against the cap for four teams this season (Devils, Kings, Canadiens and Capitals). From CBS Sports

standard move to sleep on the best offer (39 for 6 ) and then except it , if you ask 7 for 49 your not getting it , its your asking price , yes you can get it from others, BUt it aint NY , msg, cushy travel, great atmosphere,on the brink with a team mate whos become a true star in league (zib) to have to rebbuild all of that for what ... How much do you need ,when does other factors other than $$$$ take affect. I think Krieds agent is squezing for all they are worthBUT in the end by 2pm ..He;s Signing .....

Agreed, He could be a lethal threat in the playoffs. This makes the Caps a bit scarier.

It was a sad day when we traded

Eddie G
Brian Leetch
Cally
Ryan Mc
JT Miller
Nash

Just to name a few

As a fan base, we will get over trading CK20. He hasnt played up to his potential. Finally in his contract year he has shown up, but like many players who play better in their contract years only, he could fall back to the way he played in years prior.

This was a really good post. I think Kreider's invisibility streaks are a bit overstated, but this is a guy who only topped 50 pts twice in his career. He's had an extremely solid career here, but this is a guy who is you can get a king's ransom for, you should absolutely trade him. Even on his monster tear, he's only on pace for 60 points.

Was thinking the same thing last night. Leetch being traded means there is no loyalty, it's a business, plain and simple.
They also traded Cally and Zucc, two of my favorite players, another reason I'll never buy a sweater with a number.
