Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier today announced that the Sabres have acquired center Cody Hodgson and defenseman Alexander Sulzer from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Zack Kassian and defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani.

Does it make it a bit more difficult for Botterill to sell knowing they are on a bit of a roll and within range of a playoff spot? Does he trade for a player with term, hence being a buyer?

Just a guess but maybe what he does is move Frolik or ERod for mid round picks and hangs onto Sheary and Vesey. He could move a dman along with a pick or a prospect for a player that could help immediately and with term.

I hope we don’t sell Larry vesey etc for 5th round picks. It makes no sense.

Yes, there are teams out there that are hurting, Carolina has had some major injuries. He has the chips to make a deal that could help now and future
