He's an MLSE employee.
- BINGO!

Not anymore.

He should be the starter for any team playing the Leafs going forward.

And isn't Carolina talking to NJ about a Vatanen and Domingue deal.

I had to look. I guess it just feels worse than it is. I lump in the Frolik deal, which wasn’t terrible. Didn’t give much up. But I hated it when it happened and he’s done nothing to change my mind. Mailing it in

Botterill has been like many GM's so far, with some good and not so good deals.

His biggest issues has been his big not so good deal was horrible and his total inaction the past 2 seasons to address the teams most obvious need.

Even if he fully believed in Mittelstadt being an excellent center, the team still needed another veteran center to support him, Eichel, and Larsson.

That inaction is bordering on gross negligence.

- Having Tavares, Matthews and Marner on your team : 34M$.

- Paying Mike Babcock for the remaining of his contract : 22M$.

- Losing to the zamboni guy : Priceless

Timashov on waivers from Leafs. Do you take a swing at him and try and move a bottom 6 guy?

That's what EK reported, so probably not true. Carolina does have two 1sts, 2nds and 3rds at this year's draft, so they do have some ammo to use for a trade without getting rid of prospects.

I've got a feeling that between now and TDL tomorrow, a whole lot of nothing is going to happen with respect to trades. I think Botts is frozen because: 1) he still has a faint hope the Sabres could go on a run and catch the imploding Leafs/Panthers and 2) he got taken to the shed over the ROR trade and to a lesser extent the Scandella return.

The Sabres aren't going to make the playoffs. The smart thing to do is trade off all his UFA's that aren't part of the future (which should be all of them) and get some picks for them. Maybe he can leverage some of those picks into real NHL players at the draft. Getting nothing for pending UFA's when your team isn't going to the playoffs is pure negligence IMO.

Sabres beat Winnipeg 3 - 2 today in O/T - just to add confusion to the matter.

You could not possibly have been any more accurate in your post. I agree 100%.

I don't think he knows what he wants to do.

I think he actually does know what he wants to do, but he's scared to do it due to the reaction it will trigger in the fan base.

half of his nhl goals came against Buffalo...

i'd take him as long as they're moving on from a couple of players...have heard they have their eyes on some college players...not sure who or how many

With Vancouver seemingly going all in on making the playoffs this year and Brock Boeser being out for the season, would they (or Buffalo) consider trading him for Reinhart? Sam was born and raised in Vancouver and could help them immediately. Could add someone like ERod or Larsson to help even out the salaries.

Possible he makes it back. This is what I got from TSN:

"The Vancouver Canucks will be without their best winger for the remainder of the regular season and possibly the postseason.

General manager Jim Benning announced Tuesday that Brock Boeser's rib cartilage fracture will now keep him out of the lineup for at least eight weeks."

It is going to be a very uncomfortable next few months for JB, the Pegulas if JB doesn't make a big move in the next day so I expect him to make some move of significance in the next day along with a scrub or two.

Not really, because we are talking about 22 year olds that just played 4 years of college hockey. At that point you're just about who you are going to be. Chad Ruhwedel doesn't seem to be hurting too much.
