Every shift a player gets is an opportunity. Aube-Kubel is a better player this year than last year. That is painfully obvious.

He is clearly a better player. Last season I saw a guy who wasnt an NHL player.

But hey lets put it all on the coach.

I agree, also, it is a better team he is playing with, that is part of it.

That's the wrong read on the situation. in my opinion. Sanheim had no intention of getting in a dust up there.
- MJL

When he goes over gives a slight cross check, gerbe retaliates and sanhiem says want to go ( read his lips). He has intention. Do I believe he thought oh this guy will drop the gloves that fast. No. Also they talked about how g yelled let it go when sanhiem went after him. Thank you Jodi Shelley.

Nope all players play at the same level over the course of their career. Time increases only happen if smart GMs pick up that they are good

a former seventh round pick, doesn't even have 100 total career points. I can't justify giving up the first in that package, even with the cap dump.

Has backes fallen off that much? so much that can't eat up 3rd/4th line minutes for them?

- Bryz's Buyout Fund

Good deal for both clubs. Well with that reasoning I guess you would have never traded for datysuk zetterburg. Lindblon a bust. Myers shouldn’t even be in the Nhl. After it happens draft rounds mean nothing but pressure. What they become not what they thought they were.

Oh and yes. Backed isn’t the fleetest of foot but has suffered numerous injuries. He actually needs to stop as he has had multiple concussions.

Probably leight but it looks like Myers really finished off Bjorkstrand with that last check...Out for season

Don’t think he is was just saying. Instead of duck air would rather send a pick to get domi. Not sure if Montreal would be interested. But they made some weird trades in the past.
- Peter Richards

Duck air...I don’t get it and I don’t see why you would propose a deal for a player who has very little chance of being moved.

Sure the round you're drafted is not as significant a point to be made. Although I don't think you can argue that the cream usually does rise to the top more often than not. The more notable issue I see is not having eclipsed 100 total career nhl points, and 7 goals this season.

Not directed at you, but when people list these trades, do they remember that Eminger was flipped for Matt Carle and Versteeg was flipped for 2 picks, 1 of which was Gostisbehere?

If you plan on making a deal to improve the team, then you're prob already in the mindset that you're going to give up a top pick, prospect. Why not just add more to a deal to get the player you truly covet and know with certainty will make a legit impact?

Again, why would Montreal trade Max Domi? Would you give up Travis Konecny or Ivan Provorov right now?

We’re talking deadline deals. Someone suggested Ghost and our first for DuClair and Pageau. It’s an interesting, realist idea that helps us in the playoffs.

If a bottom-6 C is going to cost a top pick or top prospect, then I'm not doing it.

Expecting a first time NHLer to get into any kind of rhythm playing 5 minutes a night is ridiculous. Thankfully the chicken poop head coach who preferred to play trash like Lehtera instead got fired.

Aube-Kubel got 13:07 in his very first game under AV, a real NHL head coach.

- Feanor

It’s ironic that AV had this reputation of preferring vets over younger guys, because that’s the view we heard from Rangers fans and the media, but he’s given guys NAK, Frost, Farabee and Twarynski meaningful playing time. That previous narrative was either exaggerated or the rookies have really forced his hand.

You want to give up the Flyers 1st for an undersized rental 3C and a RFA wing on his 5th team who will be overpaid based on his 2nd good season out of five.

Dumb & dumber.

Neither am I. Bos is very top heavy, with their 1st line getting most the production, so I get why they did the deal to get some depth and balance on their bot 6. but a first is steep.

I feel like the flyers have a more balanced, systematic approach. No one line is doing all the heavy lifting, hence no need for a "depth" guy to plug in on the bottom six. A goal scoring, star potential, top 6 on the other hand...

The one issue we haven't discussed is how Ghost is viewed among his teammates. Sometimes trading a popular guy isn't the best course of action.

Great point, AV has really been giving them all a shot. It's nice to see the team finally having a quality head coach since Lavy.

Talking. Speculating. If we are giving up a d man who is signed and has promise I would want something better than duclair. Instead of trying to get two players that would be hard to pry away as a tandem just due to the possible asking price of a seller I would rather try to get domi for ghost and a pick. Domi is an Rfa so there is some protection for us. Due to his down year (s) that’s why ghost plus the second for domi is what I would offer. Said don’t think they are shopping him but he is also not untouchable. We are down of ghost right now but the going rate for a d man is usually more that wingers.

It's kind of crazy that we could be in the race for home ice

Provorov to me is ridiculous overpayment. And why do the trade. Future of me shea and offensive s men are harder to come by. Domi wasn’t living up to expectations when traded to Montreal. Yes he’s done well with them. While domi is a descent player. He is also on a team that isn’t overflowing with talent. Duck air played in 378 nhl games and has 78 goals. This year in 60 he has 22. Can he continue. I don’t know. This is his second 20 goal campaign. But looking at history. He has freedoms now since he is on what they knew before the season started as one of the worst teams. Will he be able to do that on another team when the dumb dumb coach doesn’t give him more ice time due to having better players.

I read his remark as Max Domi's value to the Habs is similar to TK or Provy. Why would we trade them away.

Bill,

It seems Hayes is a good locker room guy, can you give us some insight ?
