Darn, I would’ve liked O Kase. That’s a rich return for him though, as have many of these deadline deals.
- Sublime55

a former seventh round pick, doesn't even have 100 total career points. I can't justify giving up the first in that package, even with the cap dump.

Has backes fallen off that much? so much that can't eat up 3rd/4th line minutes for them?

I regards to the Gerbe/Sanheim dust up: I feel that was a lose/lose for Sanheim

Cool look at me I whooped a 5'4" dude's as$ or if he loses he gets looked at as a pus$y.

I love how he stood up for a teammate but he was never going to come away from that looking good.

- Pelle31Forever

That's the wrong read on the situation. in my opinion. Sanheim had no intention of getting in a dust up there.

So step to the plate. What are we giving up for Domi or Meier?
- MJL

For Meier prob (2) firsts, O'brien, JVR (eat some salary too). and I would go to sleep just fine tonight. Domi, prob less than the above proposed.

Agreed. He meant to bump him at best. Gerbe turned around and clocked him and they started to wrestle.

Sanheim lost his balance and somehow gets a extra two for a cross check that never occurred.

Fletcher should be fired immediately if he made this deal.

The market is what it is. You're not going to find a bargain out there. You have the pieces for the future already in place. The D is blossoming before our very eyes. Timo is 23, on a cap friendly deal 6 mil per, former 9th overall pick, already has a 30 goal season under his belt. more to come from that kid for sure.

I think that the boston deal that just went down is laughable and a reach at best. Sure, he's young, still has term on his deal but is he a legit difference maker, nope. especially not for a first.

No way in hell.

Now you need to tell me how you make that work cap wise.

I thought it was me. I didn't see anything remotely resembling a cross check.

Schenn cost STL (2) firsts. So this is just adding a prospect (o'brien or whoever) and a roster player (JVR or someone else) to that equation. Used JVR to make the money work. For a player in meier who hasn't hit his prime yet, and shows the potential to be a star.

This is a joke right?

I mean i want to see it happen literally just to watch Flyersbuzz implode but beyond that how does it make the Flyers better?

Teams haven’t been waiting till deadline day and with more names dropping off the list, the price will just continue to go up especially if that player isn’t a rental.

They add a 23 year old, top 6, 30 goal scorer? on a 6 mil per for the next 3 seasons. former 9th overall pick.

I'm using guys with similar skillsets, upside, and term. gaudreau, forsberg, laine, domi, reinhart, all fit that mold really.

His previous call ups were also underwhelming. He flipped a switch somewhere along the line.
- MJL

His previous callup was one nine game stint where the soon to be fired coach played him 5 minutes and change a game, less than the soon to be in Europe Jori Lehtera.

Him or Staal would be ideal imo. But both won't come cheap.

If Aube-Kubel had played at this level during that nine game stint, he would've have earned more ice time.

lol sure it sounds like a lot. but giving up a first round pick for a forward with 7 goals on the season seems like wayy more to me.

Expecting a first time NHLer to get into any kind of rhythm playing 5 minutes a night is ridiculous. Thankfully the chicken poop head coach who preferred to play trash like Lehtera instead got fired.

Aube-Kubel got 13:07 in his very first game under AV, a real NHL head coach.

Every shift a player gets is an opportunity. Aube-Kubel is a better player this year than last year. That is painfully obvious.

Boston apparently not done. Looking like they are in on Palmeri. Names like Heinen and John moore were names to be leaving Boston

Nope all players play at the same level over the course of their career. Time increases only happen if smart GMs pick up that they are good
