Carter for Raffle and a 2nd pick with LA retaining 1/2
spitballing, who has one?
Again, I prefer they stand pat - wcorvette
I’d think L A would want more since they’d be paying carter over 5 million to not play for them |

At this point hagg is playing better and brings more stability than ghost has at anytime this year, and is better suited for the 3rd D pairing alongside Braun. I’m looking down the road also...I don’t see a role for ghost on the team that justifies his cap hit - Just5
Like you didn't see a role for NAK in the NHL. |

For the people that were crying for months about it, yeah, probably. - Ftown19125
With Hayes, there is wayy more bang for your buck.
JVR plays a soft, predictable, one dimensional game. I don't think he has lived up to his deal / expectations. |

You want to give up the Flyers 1st for an undersized rental 3C and a RFA wing on his 5th team who will be overpaid based on his one good season.
Dumb & dumber. - Feanor
The Flyers first will prob be in the 20-24 range. What % of the time players in that range of the draft hit? Probably not very high. |

Sorry but he hasn't been this at all this season. He's 100% been more engaged, defensively responsible and physical this season. He easily has 35 goals last year (imo) if he doesn't get hurt first week of the season |

How is signing a 50 point LW puzzling when the team needed a 50 point LW.
Is the Hayes signing puzzling, too? - Feanor
No. The year we sign jvr to me was a little early in the rebuild. He is a good player. With the rebuild it didn’t seem like the best fit to sign at the time. I anticipate us being competitive for years starting next year. (Expecting deeper playoff runs, not just making the playoffs. ). So yes. When we signed him for 5 years at 7 mil I was puzzled. It was more the contract and player that was unexpected. Not us filing the l w hole. Plus we still had simmer as net front at the time. |

This needs to go a little bit longer to see Konecny just screaming the Blue Jackets (likely Foligno). Was (frank)ing hilarious. - jmatchett383

You're right, mid to late firsts harder to predict, usually take more time to develop. and you already have studs in the pipeline, so why not do away with the likes of a package that includes some of: (2) firsts, JVR and some of his contract, a prospect , and ghost, and see what you can get back.

Between 2000-2009 (a 10-year span) 80% of players picked in the first round made it to the NHL. |

What does made it to the NHL mean? Playing one game? Obviously I mean by hitting on a first round pick to mean being a NHL contributing regular. |

tough spot with the deadline, you want to help the group, they deserve it but they are playing so well do you really want to mess with the chemistry. Think about the Yotes and their record prior to getting Hall and after, under 500 since.
Then you still have Patrick and Lindblom next year and the farm system is still solid.
Any trade would have to take it into consideration, they would have to part with a piece to make room for the acquisition. So the 4C, what would you give up and what really would be the upside and the cost. The 4th line is playing well, why pay the price to mess with it? That leaves you with, can you upgrade the wing or center?
I could see them moving raffle, I could see other teams asking for Laughton. I believe NAK has played himself into a possible trade chip.
I won't be disappointed if they stand pat, if they do trade it needs to be a clear upgrade. - wcorvette
Why would they want to use Aube-Kubel as a trade chip? He is a young player who has played his way into the NHL and shows an ability to not only pressure the puck on the forecheck but to also chip in offensively playing on the 4th line. He is a player that might be able to work himself higher in the lineup. We need to keep that kind of player. Not trade him. |

OMG. I just saw that sequence with Gerbe from last night. The smallest player in the NHL putting players on their ass. Sanheim got manhandled by him. |

re improvement trade, i would if we can get a solid deal. but i believe we are set at forward position for 2020-2021 and wouldnt want to impede development of the kids.
Assuming NoPa returns and Frosty made winger, we have all 4 lines set. and raffl is the spare. i would have 4th line as laughton centering nak and pitlick. 3rd line nopa centering jvr and frosty. top 6 you can mix and match but we know who they are. this lineup already removes openings for anyone in the system like kase, ratcliff, misha, rubtsov etc. i wouldnt give up a lot for a 4th rental as we already have a top 4th line and no cap space.
also my lineup excludes return of oskar. if he does in fact return, then we have a logjam in top 6. |

Certainly seemed that way for awhile. Good on him to realize he needed to develop his all around game to contribute in a bottom line role.
There’s no way I’m sending hagg back to a #7 role the way he’s been playing |

Hayes has been on the ice for 28 GF at 5on5 and 45 GA.
JVR's 5on5 ratio since he came back is 73 GF and 74 GA.
JVR is scoring at 2.09 P/60 at 5on5. Hayes is at 1.33 |

I mean not every pick is going to hit, look at morin, rubstov.
Even laughton to an extent who is a sub 30 point guy a year. I remember the comparisons to mike richards when he got drafted lolol yea right. |

They could get something done with him at this deadline. Bottom line is he’s a 7 for us making 4.5 mil - Just5
Before Gostisbehere was injured, he was not a 7th defenseman. |

The way he's been playing is getting caved in night after night. The goals against will start coming eventually when you spend that much time in your own zone. In fact, they started last night. PDO heaters don't last for ever. |

didn't say they would, said that he has played his way into one, meaning a player that has value in a trade, he does have potential upside making him a player a team might ask for in a trade. |
