The one issue we haven't discussed is how Ghost is viewed among his teammates. Sometimes trading a popular guy isn't the best course of action. - cdearth23
We had no problem trading Simmonds. This isn’t even a factor. |

Sure. Montreal won't be making the playoffs again this year. Things are tough when you have over 18 mil locked up between your goalie and top d man. Who knows what their strategy is?
But to the point above, I agree. If you're going to give up quality pieces (Ghost, prospects, top picks) you better be getting back even more of a quality player. - Bryz's Buyout Fund
Ghost being referred to as quality is a complete different debate. |

All this provy for domi trade speculation is pure blasphemy. Provy is our future C, he is also looking more ala Forsberg every day with that facial hair. My man crush is strong right now.
Also, DuClair hasn't done squat in the past month or so. He goes so cold...so cold. - bmoreflyer
Nobody is talking about trading Provorov for Domi. We also have no idea if Provorov is our future Captain. |

DuClair being on team #5 at the age of 24 makes me pause about him, granted he could have grown up. Pageau is a UFA. Honestly I don't want to see them move their first rounder. - nastyflyergirl
DuClair on a bad team and slumping the past month was still scoring at a hire rate than anyone on our team.
If you asked me if I would trade Ghost for DuClair or Kapanen right now if the other side would agree to it, I would. If you asked me if I would trade Ghost for Carter or Staal I wouldn’t. With the loss of Lindblom, I would consider Kapanen or DuClair at the right price. |

Ghost being referee to as quality is a complete different debate. - SuperSchennBros
Yeah. I don't know what the problem is. He's showed so much promise at times, it's hard to believe that that skill and upside simply went away. He seems hesitant, second guessing his own ability/positioning, not playing instinctively, not letting pucks rips from the blue line. |

Yeah that gives me pause with Duclair. He passed through waivers in the past too. - arichardson22
He passed through waivers when he wasn’t having good seasons. He is now. Plus he’s only 24. In my opinion, you roll the dice on players like DuClair, as the Flyers have in the past both bad and good. Voracek wasn’t living up to the hype in Columbus and some thought he never would. Lupul with the Oilers. Alexander daigle. Scottie Upshall, which by the way was a fan favorite but was never anything special. Ray Emery. |

Yeah, no way. For what it will cost to get him (inflated price) and then potentially resign, you might as well throw a few more pieces in the package and get someone worth while.
I think the Zucker deal will go down as a great one for Pit. He checks all the boxes, with his age (28), term 5.5 through '23, top 6 ability, can finish and give you 25 plus goals.
Fletch should have had the inside push for that having been there. He drafted him! smh |

Good Lord.. the Bruins, who already have a somewhat thin prospect pool, have dealt a first round pick and David Backes (and some other guy) to Anaheim for Ondrej Kase. |

I keep reading here how this Flyer team isnt ready to contend. No need to try and go for it this year.So i ask. When your 8th in the entire league are you not a contender? When your best player is 32 and your other top player is 30.You also have a good mix of vets and younger players.Shouldnt you do your best and try to go for it now out of respect to the vets?My opinion is if a deal can be made now to help this team and give them the best chance to go for it you have to do it.Even if it puts a small dent in your prospect pool. The Flyers have done a good job in stock piling prospects, picks.I hope Fletcher does something to strengthen this team.Btw Elliott held the fort last night. I know a lot of you were upset Hart didn't start.I felt it was the right call to start Elliott. |

Who drafted him is irrelevant. That's not the kind of deal Fletcher should be making.

Strange that didn't come to mind when I was writing it. I swear I'm a Flyers fan. Simmer was/is way more popular than Ghost could ever hope to be. I can't get the images of Ghost and his damn dogs out of my mind. I realize he has that top PP QB potential but I wouldn't miss him. If Ghost can get us a decent return, we do it. |

I think the flyers are balanced enough to not really be exposed at the 3C or 4C. Unlike boston, who is a one line wrecking crew, and needs some depth and balance there. I feel the flyers need some fire power to match up with kucherov, stamkos, crosby, geno, ovi, backstrom, pastrnak, marchand...you get the point..
A duclair doesn't do it for me, neither does a pending ufa JGP.

Lulz, wut?
Why would you break up a fourth line that is performing well by moving a dman onto it?

It was a reach for sure. Performing well, ehh they're not lights out. They're a fourth line after all, not being asked to do a whole lot and expectations are low. Nonetheless, there have been some bright spots. I figured some ice time, and PP time would be better than NO time at all. Otherwise, the team should explore the possibility of moving him. Either deadline, or more likely, in the off season. |
