Talking. Speculating. If we are giving up a d man who is signed and has promise I would want something better than duclair. Instead of trying to get two players that would be hard to pry away as a tandem just due to the possible asking price of a seller I would rather try to get domi for ghost and a pick. Domi is an Rfa so there is some protection for us. Due to his down year (s) that’s why ghost plus the second for domi is what I would offer. Said don’t think they are shopping him but he is also not untouchable. We are down of ghost right now but the going rate for a d man is usually more that wingers. - Peter Richards
Sure. Montreal won't be making the playoffs again this year. Things are tough when you have over 18 mil locked up between your goalie and top d man. Who knows what their strategy is?
But to the point above, I agree. If you're going to give up quality pieces (Ghost, prospects, top picks) you better be getting back even more of a quality player. |

It’s ironic that AV had this reputation of preferring vets over younger guys, because that’s the view we heard from Rangers fans and the media, but he’s given guys NAK, Frost, Farabee and Twarynski meaningful playing time. That previous narrative was either exaggerated or the rookies have really forced his hand. - Sublime55
Some fans don't understand why coaches play vets over youth and vice versa. |

No question about it. Vigneault is a really good coach who is doing a strong job but he also has a better roster to use. A lot of the growing pains happened under the previous coaching staff. |

All this provy for domi trade speculation is pure blasphemy. Provy is our future C, he is also looking more ala Forsberg every day with that facial hair. My man crush is strong right now.
Also, DuClair hasn't done squat in the past month or so. He goes so cold...so cold. |

Again, why would Montreal trade Max Domi? Would you give up Travis Konecny or Ivan Provorov right now?
We’re talking deadline deals. Someone suggested Ghost and our first for DuClair and Pageau. It’s an interesting, realist idea that helps us in the playoffs. - SuperSchennBros
DuClair being on team #5 at the age of 24 makes me pause about him, granted he could have grown up. Pageau is a UFA. Honestly I don't want to see them move their first rounder. |

I think he was just comparing Provys value to the flyers to Domi's value to mtl. Yeah provy, isn't going anywhere, don't know why he was even brought up.
You're right about duclair, recently got his first goal in like 20 games.
The cost it would take to get him, isn't worth giving up. Not for him, at least. |

It's kind of crazy that we could be in the race for home ice
Edit: nevermind the caps have a cake walk schedule the rest of the way - bulet13
Flyers have Winnipeg, San Jose, NY Rangers, Carolina, Buffalo, Boston, Minnesota, Edmonton, St. Louis, Isles, Pittsburgh and Nashville at home
NY Rangers x 2, Washington, Tampa, Dallas, Nashville, Detroit, NJ and Buffalo on the road
Surprised how many western conference teams they have left |

I would say Domi and Konency are comparable. Provy is just laughable, but thanks for the clarification.
I don't want to go near DuClair, we need to shore up 3C or 4C. I won't be bummed if we stay idle at TDL, keep Ghost for depth, revisit a trade in the offseason. If he has a good playoff game or two, his value skyrockets.

lol why? He makes 8 mil year to play hockey and live in sunny socal year round. Like Carter, another 03 draft guy, Getz won his cup, made his money, is 34, has a 1,000 games under his belt...he's chillin lol |

I think the flyers are balanced enough to not really be exposed at the 3C or 4C. Unlike boston, who is a one line wrecking crew, and needs some depth and balance there. I feel the flyers need some fire power to match up with kucherov, stamkos, crosby, geno, ovi, backstrom, pastrnak, marchand...you get the point..
A duclair doesn't do it for me, neither does a pending ufa JGP.
a thought...throw ghost on the fourth line, why not? |

You want to give Dale Weise a 6x5 term? Are you (frank)ing nuts? When you've got a stud like Weise available, you lock him up for 7 years and just hope it's under $10M per.
I always wondered how he and AMac responded when their agents called them with the deal:
Agent: "Dale, the Flyers just made you an offer of 4 years for $2.35M per."
Weise: "Come on man, that's not funny. What was the real offer?"
Agent: "Dale, seriously, that was the offer....maybe he's drunk, I'm not sure."
Weise: "......."
Agent: "Dale are you there?"
Weise: (zipping up) "Sorry, got a bit excited. Yeah, let's do it." |

Don’t think it’ll take too much with his age and all. If we are just looking at a pure rental does big joe have anything left? Third line center with jvr and NAK on wings. |

lolol a thought, but still, paying a guy 4.5 to be your 7th. Who'd you rather have on the ice ghost or bunnaman? At least in this option Ghost gets to play 4th line min, plus PP without disrupting your D pairing.
Quenneville had 2 Dmen playing on floridas fourth line last week.
again, just a thought. lol |

I have a feeling Andrew McDonald's call went something very similar...like this:
Agent: "Andy, this is Dale Weise's agent (lol), the Flyers just made you an offer of 6 years for $30milllion."
McDonald: "Come on man, that's not funny. What was the real offer?"
Agent: "Andy, seriously, that was the offer....maybe he's drunk, I'm not sure."

I read his remark as Max Domi's value to the Habs is similar to TK or Provy. Why would we trade them away. - cdearth23
You read it correctly. I am not responding to two insanely long post that asks a simple question. |
