Might they trade T Glass. He had a nice review by his coach and the feature on Glass recently in The Chicago Tribune or was it Sun times. Anyway, he was a #1 & is prepping with Wolves. Elvenas too gives Vegas two offensively capable futures as trade chips. I am unaware how Dansk, a goaltender, is rated as a.prospect

It's Cody Glass. And doubtful

I just read in the Athletic that talks between Lehner and the Hawks didn’t really even get to dollars as the Hawks were not willing to give the term he wanted. At least Stan realizes that committing long term to anyone at this point is a bad idea.

Boyle mentioned on the postgame that once the term was mentioned, 5-6 years, the conversations pretty much stalled.

Do we know that Carolina would still be buyers if they have lost Pesce for a while, given that they were battling for a wild card spot before all the injuries happened?

And Darth, I think Bowman's next trade is Saad at next year's deadline. You're way too optimistic.

If Bowman is not going to sign Lehner to an extension he has to move him.

He procured him as an asset when he was signed prior to the season. It was defined as a one-season tryout. Signing him to a 1-year deal and letting him walk at seasons basically means he mismanaged the asset. He has to get something in return.

There seem to be three schools of thought.

1. Blame Stan for all the Blackhawk problems . This seems to have the most people but there isn't really a consensus on what he's done wrong. He's made bad trades. He's made bad signings. He waits too long to make moves. He's only a GM cuz a Daddy. He eats potato chips.

2. Stan can do no wrong. Very few, if any, posters fall into this category but lots of posters believe if you don't want Stan fired then you obviously love him.

3. Let's give stan some time and see what he can do. A few of us, myself included fall into this category. He's made some mistakes and he's made some good moves. He's had to battle the success of the team that left a bare prospects cupboard and some big contracts for important core players. I still think he deserves some time to see what he can do but at the same time he has to turn the team in the right directionin the next year.

I used to fall into option 3 but not anymore. I also don't place all the blame on him as do a lot of people on this board. I think Stan deserves just as much credit for Cups #2 and #3 as anyone else. He maintained the roster and added key pieces to keep the team on their run. I just believe his tenure has run its course. Everyone has a shelf life and his has expired. This will be the third consecutive season they have not made the playoff. Outside of the Seabrook the contracts he has handed out have not been all bad but the NTC & NMC's have crippled the team giving them very little flexibility. The Seabrook contract is an atrocity. When it was signed it was immediately a bad contract. What is alarming is how he was front & center through the cap hell after every season giving up prospects to unload big contracts and yet still he did the deal. Replacing a legendary coach with a rookie coach has fallen flat and everyone can see it. I believe it's time to move on. A fresh set of eyes...a different perspective...different energy. I just don't see enough good to outweigh the bad. Good things all have to end at some point.

Bowman brought Lehner in as a one year rental with an option to negotiate a purchase. Lehner and his agent bought into the idea at the time and he performed well on the ice.

If Bowman flips him now for a player or draft pick, he is getting futures back to use and all it cost was cash spent on Lehners salary as a rental. Just because he apparently now doesnt want to own Lehner going foreard, doesnt constitute a mismanagement of an asset.

What is strange at this point is he held gus out for 2 games and no deal announced yet. Why? Normally a player held out is moved quickly. The deal was done and announced.

1. Are buyers balking at Stan's price?
2. Is Stan going for a package deal or multiplayer multiteam deal.
3. Was there a deal and one side pulled out?

And still no rumors bout the hawks by Ecklund.

It seems due to cap considerations Vegas want to make the deal today. That said there is other speculation Gus may not be going to Vagas.

After seeing the return on a much better player in Kovalchuck, don't expect much in return for Gus. A low pick may be all the Hawks get.

As for Ecklund, Not sure that this is a concern considering he's seldom right about any prediction.
