Trade somebody already.

Probably have to wait until tomorrow
Some teams need that day of cap space (Gus to LVK, for instance)

5x5 stats (Natural Statrick):

SAT - 37-49
SOG - 20-32
SC - 12-30
HDSC - 1-13

Heat chart shows a large portion of their shots - way too large - from outside the circles.

Corey Crawford on his good play recently: "We changed our system too, a little bit; I don't think we're giving up as much."

Gotta love craw...always positive no matter what the reality...

Might they trade T Glass. He had a nice review by his coach and the feature on Glass recently in The Chicago Tribune or was it Sun times. Anyway, he was a #1 & is prepping with Wolves. Elvenas too gives Vegas two offensively capable futures as trade chips. I am unaware how Dansk, a goaltender, is rated as a.prospect

Thanks Mo:

I have an older son and a daughter, the youngest son has huge goals, but he's so (frank)ing small. He is a first year Midget (U16) and is playing on a team that's on a bit lower level than he is used to. He is having a good year, but the team is pretty bad. His coach moves him all around from game to game he plays C, D, Wing.

Ever since squirts I thought he had the "instincts" for D, and he does. I knew it then and I know it now, but he wants to play forward. Also, his size is really a struggle down by the blue paint.

In 25 games I guess he has 40 points or so. He is actually in a bit of a slump. In his last 3 games he has no points, he has played C once and D twice. Hell, not sure he even has a shot on goal. Although 2 or 3 games ago he did win 22 of 23 faceoffs, which is completely insane. So there' that. LOL

Are the coach's initials JC?

Must be tough to have a good idea of the best move for a child, and hold back and let him decide.

Thanks for the update.

I just read in the Athletic that talks between Lehner and the Hawks didn’t really even get to dollars as the Hawks were not willing to give the term he wanted. At least Stan realizes that committing long term to anyone at this point is a bad idea.

I just read that too. Sounds like Gus will be dealt but for much less (much much less) than anyone expects. I also get the impression Lehner won’t be dealt and the relationship between him and the Hawks isn’t too good. I don’t expect Lehner back, maybe he’s traded for minimal return before free agency.

That is very possible, but I would expect more pieces involved, because Carolina would want to part ways with one of their goalies. Carolina is the team I am expecting the Hawks make a trade, but just a hunch, and that would be Lehner to New Jersey.
- MadHatter

This makes no sense like all the poop you post. Why would they trade for him when they can just bid for his services in July?

If the Hawks trade Saad, Lehner and Gus is multiple deals what would be a decent return?

20th pick +/- in first round
20th pick +/- in second round
20th pick +/- in fourth round
And a middle six forward prospect that could be ready to play in the NHL next year. (Think Beaudin level prospect, only at forward, not defense. )

Well he was actually responding to my poop, so you’re attacking the wrong guy. They may want him now because they really want to make the playoffs and just lost both their starting goalies. If they think they will be able to resign him he might be worth more to them. They may want to send Mrazek back our way. Which wouldn’t be a big deal cheap buy out this summer.

Well, then thats a gigantic failure. Not that Stan has not failed before but hear me out.

The Blackhawks can take on 12m in expiring contracts from anyone.
The Blackhawks have 2 UFA starting goalies.
Gus can help someones power play.
Saad , who id like to keep can maybe get some bites at 6m with one year left.

In total Stan NEEDS to get a 1st and 2nd round pick in this up coming draft

would be NICE to get a forward prospect that can actually play NHL hockey

Set the Blackhawks up for 7/1 best he can shedding some salary.

This sucks but its what as to be done.

The talking heads on the NHL channel expressed their belief that Lehner would bring "A+++ return." Now, I know they've been way off before in their predictions, but a return might just be greater than some expectations here.

Multiple teams need a goalie.

Do It.

Id sell both Crawford and Lehner. Then the Blackhawks could resign whichever one they want on 7/1

I say that for Lehner (50% retained) Stan will get Mrazek & a 3rd.

I think he was referring to hatter's last line about trading Lehner to New Jersey.

That’s because John McDonough being a jerkoff gets you... while I Stan has blown some big time moves, he hardly has been put in a position to succeed.

Furthermore I go to Rocky on that... he had the balls to change things once the old man died, but now after a decade of success and four years of failure, he has done nothing. Rocky is the one that needs to pull the trigger...

One thing that makes me nervous is that I fell like at least one of these deals should have been completed tonight.

If not that leaves a lot of work to do tomorrow AM, thats not good.

Crawford to Colorado

Lehner to Carolina

And watch them play each other in the SC finals.

We have seen this before. Stan waited way too long to move Sharp. Then got fleeced. Tough decisions have to be made. He may not get the BIG return he wants for Lehner. Get what you can because he is not coming back. Same with Gus.

Yea, but Im hoping this is different because its the TDL, and the Hawks have assets that other teams want.
And the Sharp trade was in the summer.

Phuckkkk,

Just looked at my AVI and looks like I've been posting on this board with y'all over 10 years.
Seen the board get really feisty the past few days. Ive had my share of idiotic drunk and sober comments.

To friends and foes thank you for making hockey even more entertaining. Been a lot of fun.
Cheers to all of you on TDL eve.
