And there were more injuries last night, we'd all be saying he should have waited had he done something sooner.

Your probably right. But that's a fluke all those injuries I'm sure the odds of that happening are way up their .

Really? Just because I say there’s hope and at least a chance for another run at a Cup in the next few years if right decisions are made?

5x5 stats (Natural Statrick):

SAT - 37-49
SOG - 20-32
SC - 12-30
HDSC - 1-13

Heat chart shows a large portion of their shots - way too large - from outside the circles.

Gus will get a 5th and Lehner a 3rd thanks to Stan’s timing.

I'm wondering if the expansion draft coming up next year is playing a role in these GMs minds with over paying
- Taylorst1

Absolutely,as you want to have some choices for Seattle.

If there is a god in the heavens above, Robin will be re-signed, you'll stop following Hawks, and then I'll just have to skip your posts about west coast teams and their affiliates at 4am.
In the name of the father, son, and Holy Ghost, so it is spoken!!!!!

There seem to be three schools of thought.

1. Blame Stan for all the Blackhawk problems . This seems to have the most people but there isn't really a consensus on what he's done wrong. He's made bad trades. He's made bad signings. He waits too long to make moves. He's only a GM cuz a Daddy. He eats potato chips.

2. Stan can do no wrong. Very few, if any, posters fall into this category but lots of posters believe if you don't want Stan fired then you obviously love him.

3. Let's give stan some time and see what he can do. A few of us, myself included fall into this category. He's made some mistakes and he's made some good moves. He's had to battle the success of the team that left a bare prospects cupboard and some big contracts for important core players. I still think he deserves some time to see what he can do but at the same time he has to turn the team in the right directionin the next year.

I have no idea what their criteria is - even after reading this - which, apparently, is what they base it on.

See what you can do with it:

Would MUCH rather have Suzuki than Bean
- MadHatter

Wiz post suggests that Bean not NHL ready;; needs improve couple areas to begin as 3rd pair with possible second pair as ceiling should his entire game improve.

Where's L_B_R when we need her? She can probably succinctly explain this.

So - here’s my take, based on the 2nd link:

Shots in the slot between the dots are HD (3 points).

Shots closer to the goalie, and to the left and right of the HD area, are Scoring Chances (2 points).

So - right in front of the goalie aren’t HD (unless a rebound).

I think different sites define them differently.

Fair assessment. I am.hooeful that Stan realized his team must be tougher and meaner across all lines, and no total passive dmen in each pair - cannot totally not engage in physical scrums - not half your defense merely stick checkers. This is why I have held out hope for Special K and why I am excited to see Carlsson get a look.

Special K may ultimately never turn the corner and therefore could become expansion team fodder. Mitchell and Carlsson "in" next year..Beaudin and Kyrs should get a look. Gilbert a spare at least until he improves in certain areas.

Gustafsson and Lehner together may pry Toronto’s 1st from the Canes.

That is very possible, but I would expect more pieces involved, because Carolina would want to part ways with one of their goalies. Carolina is the team I am expecting the Hawks make a trade, but just a hunch, and that would be Lehner to New Jersey.

My take... I'm assuming the net/crease is that green rectangle below the 24/193.

Shots in front of the crease (green) are worth 3 and are High Danger. Tipped shots in front of the goalie in this category

Shots in the slot and angling out from the crease to the dots (pink,/red) are worth 2 and are Scoring Chances

Why would NJ want a goalie with expiring contract when they are 200 points out of a playoff spot?

Yeah - maybe I was looking at it upside-down.

I think there is a number 4. Similar to your #3 but with some edits.

4. Stan's time is up to see what he can do. Some of us fall into this category. He's made some mistakes and he's made some good moves. He's had to battle the success of the team that left a bare prospects cupboard and some big contracts for important core players. After 3 consecutive seasons not making the playoffs and with no appreciable improvements in point totals it's time for a "fresh set of eyes and to get someone with no ties to the core". Don't know who that GM would be but it's time for a change.
