What if neither team is on Crawford's 10 team list?
- rpeters01

Some would say that is on Stan.

Thanks for clarifying. Hope it’s just a rehab stint as Soderlund is more effective in the Hogs lineup than some of the minor league scrubs they’ve had the past few months.

AEL, what’s the scouting report on Carlsson?

I have a feeling we'll be hearing about all these awesome potential deals and jack poop will get done. Bowman will get a 5th for Sikura and call it a TDL.

SET YOUR goals LOW and hope to achieve. This organization is arrogant, I seriously doubt they do any "sell" trades. JMHO.

- kwolf68

Who would give a 5th for Sikura those other deals make more sense.

Lehner didn’t step up when stepping up was needed; Crawford overcame early issues and did.

If Lehner’s play has been affected by his contract / TDL issues, he’s not mentally tough enough (personal issues aside) to backstop through a long playoff run.

The Hurricanes have the assets in terms of draft picks. When you are trying to make the playoffs and you have a surplus of those assets you pull the trigger. Hanging on to next year's picks do nothing for you now.

Same with prospects. It seems Carolina has a formidable system with some nice young players. If the Hawks like one of them, packaging that player up for a 1st and 2nd would not be an overpay on Carolina's part.

Frank all that now is the time to get Tevo back! They held our ass to the fire getting him.

Ek says the Canes are talking to Ottawa regarding Andersen and Pierre Lebrun suggests they talk to Anaheim about Ryan Miller. I'm sure the Canes GM will perform his due diligence by Monday.

AEL, what’s the scouting report on Carlsson?
- Angotti

Carlsson's strengths: fluid skating, cannon of a shot, physicality, and a mean streak.

He's generally good at protecting the net when he's there but does get drawn away toward the puck in the corners or behind the net from time to time without making sure his D partner has slot coverage.

Derek King has complimented Carlsson, who was in Sweden before starting his ELC last season, for having the mentality and physical game of a youngster who came up through Canadian juniors.

If we could somehow pry Bean away from Car, how would he compare to Boqvist as far as prospects go? Reading all the comments, it seems Bean is better, but is that because he's older and further along in his development?

From what I've read up on Bean, as to be expected, he and Boqvist need to improve significantly in their own end.

Both have high-end offensive skill. I'd give Boqvist the edge with being more electrifying.

Where Boqvist is far superior to Bean is skating. Bean really needs to work on his agility, especially in tight quarters.

Dude is a CPA. It is in his DNA. Personally think the whole drag his feet thing comes from some nebulous speculations. To be sure, he does lean more toward the cautious side.

Fans by nature are impatient.

Per scott powers on lehner

1. "You just don’t get many cracks at goalies as consistently good as Lehner. Over the last five seasons, only Ben Bishop has a higher save percentage than Lehner (minimum 200 games). Lehner has proven himself year after year, and he’s still just 28 years old."

2. The Blackhawks have witnessed firsthand this year what Lehner is capable of. He’s won the Blackhawks a lot of games and kept them in many more. He’s done it too while facing more shots per game than any other goalie in the league. He’s been among the league’s top goalies for most of the season.

3. Lehner has also been embraced by his Blackhawks teammates. He can be a dominating personality, but that hasn’t appeared to be an issue at any time within the Blackhawks’ room. Most of the players seem to really like Lehner on and off the ice. His return to the team beyond this season would likely be welcomed by many.

Where does powers get off publishing all this BS.

Yes, Soderlund is on the shelf again. Kurashev and Hakkarainen are on the DL still along with Krys.
- AEL_Fox

I was finally able to watch Saturday's Hogs game end to end (before that I only saw clips of the line brawl and Tomkins fight) and I stand corrected: Krys was in his first game back from injury.

Also, as Elbows pointed out, Soderlund got sent down to Indy. He was previously injured again so hoping he is just rehabbing and not being relegated due to performance. There are many others I would demote to the ECHL over Soderlund.
