I have almost 20,000 songs on iTunes / iPod - room for Stones, Beatles, rock, R&B, country, blues, hot jazz, swing, show tunes....

There’s a lot of good stuff out there.

- StLBravesFan

I have rock, country, blues, and motown, and like to shuffle them just to change things up.

Sell as much as can be sold.

I agree with the LTIR money that Stan has now , encompassed with Chicago's cap problems next year , and not enough talent in Rockford besides some future blue chip defensive prospects

I'd off load both goalies
Drake
Saad
Gus
Maatta
And see if Keith is open to a trade

And embrace the tank for the remainder of the year bring up the youth prospects evaluate them
With a stockpile of picks and prospects

Hawks scouting leafs and canes. They play neither rest of the way.

See if anything comes of it.

Kreider playing for rangers.....

- SteveRain

GREAT....these 2 teams are loaded with young talented SPEED and BOTH need a goalie if they want to be serious CUP contenders. A GREAT GM would find the right package that includes Lehner to deal with either of these 2 pretend contenders.

C'mon Bowman....find a way to get your Hawk team to contend NEXT YEAR. You have a wealth of much needed talent to get faster and younger by Monday.

Lehner, Gus, Saad, Maata, Strome, Smith, Carpenter, Murphy, are ALL players that CUP contenders could use to increase their chances right now. ( I'd throw Keith in that list too but too many here might stroke out).

There is absolutely no reason why Stan Bowman can't do this re-tool right now to make this team a viable contender NEXT YEAR. If he can't, FIRE his arse at year end.....and naturally Colliton as well.

Yea this is a hard one. I give the Beatles a slight edge, because they actually influenced the Stones. The Beatles were THE BAND that broke America during a time of teen idol nonsense rule. From there it was on like donkey kong.

The Stones get respect because they stayed together and as you said had a longer career. I think the Beatles could have had staying power, but the dynamics of the band were much different and the creative forces in the Beatles all wanted their own space which lead to the breakup.

The Stones really had only 1 creative force, and that was the Mick/Keith combination, the most lethal songwriting duo ever. But Ron Wood, Charlie watts, etc. were not bursting at the seems to leave the band and write their own music, they liked being part of the Stones and ya know what NOT A BAD (frank)ing gig.

Both bands rule planet earth.

Outside forces on the Beatles, primarily Beatlemania and the elaborate songs that caused them to stop touring after Shea in 1965, didn’t help.

Yea true enough. I think it was more "Beatlemania" that lead them to stopping. They were very frustrated that they couldn't hear themselves when they played live because of all the girls screaming.

That said there is no doubt John and Paul had very different ideas on music and George also wanted more autonomy. There was just too much song writing talent in that band to be sustainable.

Crawford to one and Lehner to the other. Should make for a fun East playoff bracket.

Can always sign one of them when they are a free agent again.

I’m with you except for Murphy and Saad. All teams out there are looking for a good right handed defensive defenseman, those are hard to find and Murphy has a great contract. Saad I would only move if I had an overwhelming offer. Also, Carpenter’s AAV is very reasonable for what he brings, he’s worth more to Hawks than what they would get back.

I saw them at Sox Park in 1965 - $3.50 ticket - had no idea what they sang. They set up a platform over 2nd base, some speakers in front - totally overwhelmed by - yes - 30,000 screaming teenagers.

Seven bands came on before them - only one (? and the Mysterians) I had heard of - then the Beatles for 35 minutes.

There's a lot of great music out there but I agree. These two are the measuring sticks.

Like you mention about the supporting players in the Stones, great musicians but not the driving force, whereas in the Beatles, George Harrison is amazing and he was the 3rd banana.

Ringo wasn't a great vocalist but also has amassed a pretty good catalog.

George was very good. He got way too poppy in the 80s for my taste, but his 70s music was awesome.

The Beatles had too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. The dynamic of the Stones lent itself to more longevity.

Still, I wish we would have had a chance to have the Beatles for longer than we did. Could have been awesome, because John was still a brilliant writer till the day he died, can only "imagine" what they would have come up with after they got back together, which I think would have happened.

Paul and John gave him one song on each album at some point, but as you mention, it wasn't enough which resulted in "All Things Must Pass", a triple album.

Great album but yeah George had a lot he wanted to put out there and would never be able to in the Beatles.

What amazes me about the Beatles is not only their career as a band but also as solo artists. Not a big fan of Ringo's stuff but the other three were all forces in their own right.

Both Canes goalies are hurt. A Scott Foster moment looks like some dude David Ayers will fill in. Maybe the Canes have to shop for a goalie..

Or - they had done everything possible as John, Paul, George, and Ringo - and anything more would have been less and less.

Sometimes the end comes at the right time.

I do wonder what more Hank, Buddy, James Dean had to give - but we know the Elvis had nothing left.

Actually I had no issue with him dabbling with Ravi and his song "Life Itself" is quite a wonderful lyric, even though Christians hate it (because the implication in the song is you can get to God through other avenues than just Jesus).
