I doubt Ward completely uprooted his family for a one year deal?
- rpeters01

Do you know that as a fact?

Many athletes do, regardless of the sport.....

I'd think you could do better than Mantha with that deal. Also DET would likely want one of our young dmen vs Saad.
- HawkintheD

Maybe..... but I love Mantha. As far as young dmen, we have about 75 in the system.... just NO to Boqvist or Mitchell.

I want Saad gone. 200 ft player with speed yes but No hands. He doesn't belong on any PP because he has trouble controlling the puck....ALWAYS.
He's a $6M 3rd liner on a good team and after next year he'll ask for $8M ??
No chance.

It's also possible that Cam Ward did not uproot his family when he signed in Chicago. I don't know the facts.

I think ADB will have a bounce back season next year. Contrary to the board opinion that other teams are on to him I really think this season was an anomaly in part because of Strome’s injury and Dcat bouncing around the lineup, partly him trying to play a physical game early on and partly bad luck.. he’s working hard, he goes to the open areas and to the tough areas and he’s getting his chances,
- paulr

ADB all the sudden cant score ok that's possible...a world class hands guy starts fumbling the puck then that tells me something is wrong with himself. Think about it. I'm not sure how that doesn't make sense

Cam was in Carolina for 10+ years, they weren't going to uproot their family.... And Crow is in a similar situation..... He's 35-36 and he's not going to get a 7 year deal - he will get a 1-2 year deal at most, and the most I can see him making is 1.5K per, maybe 2 per..... Look, he's a 35+ contract, and if he get's injured - it could be a real issue when it comes to the salary cap.

Depends on your definition of a “prospect.”
- John McDonough

Dach,Boqvist,Highmore, Mitchell. We were on the bubble a few weeks ago so I'm not blaming coaching or management. Reminder. We have over $15 million on the sidelines every night and 2 other guys taking almost 25% of the cap so I wouldn't blame the coaches

He brought his family with him. It's why he wanted the NMC on his contract.

I thought Ward had a special needs child. If that was the case I'm sure he moved the family to Chicago.
- boilermaker100

I have no way of knowing what he did but would think that would make it even less likely he moved everyone.

Wonder which goalie they bring up in the next couple of days? AEL, who comes up first from Rockford?
- Angotti

If the deciding factor is simply who the better goalie is, then Delia would be my pick for who to call up.

However, the Hogs are still in a playoff hunt so would it be better to keep their #1 in Delia with a capable backup in Tomkins then have Lankinen finally get some NHL games under his belt?

Lankinen is a pending RFA so it would be nice to see what he can bring at the NHL level. IIRC, he has been recalled twice on an emergency basis but never saw any action.

I think ADB is having a "Junior Slump", lol why other stars have their "sophomore slump".......

I also think teams are starting to understands ADB's game, but IMO I just think it will make him stronger.... This season may be a setback, BUT - I think the kid will learn and will "flip the script" on them..... Yea, I think the kid could be the next Blackhawk since Roenick to score 50 in a season......

- Savard2Secord

Huh? Do you really think this is the first time people have tried to stop ADB? There isn't much to understand about his game. He shoots the puck.cone on you pisses

Even though they are a middle of the road team now, the Preds are still fun to beat.

AFAIC the Hawks can lose most of the rest of their games and continue on the quest for a top 5 pick...but the Preds have become my new Blues, Wings or Canucks.

I actually don't hate the Nucks like I used to. That team was just vile and it was fun to flip roles where the Hawks were playing the role of the 80's Oilers and the Nucks were that era's Hawks...though I don't recall the Hawks having any bags of pus in the Burrows, Lapierre, Bieksa, Kesler, Torres mold.

Will always hate the Wings but they're pretty harmless right now. Maybe the greatest GM ever, Stevie Y can catapult them into contention and make them truly detestable again.

Was looking today and saw they've already been eliminated from the playoffs with 19 games left. They've won a grand total of 15 games and started the season 3-1.

I agree Stevie Y has done a fantastic job catapulting himself as a solid GM.

Speaking of rivalries purely as a fan , the nhl when they realigned divisions and conferences , the nhl truly did a disservice by moving Toronto and Detroit out of the western conference.

The nostalgia and memories of those teams and the matchups against Chicago was always fun , intense and hatred .

I'd love to swap out Nashville for Detroit coming back to the west

You are so correct. I like to see Saad here but not over $6 mill. Salary cap constraint. Plus if he was given $7 mill or more, then it pushes other players to want even more. When not deserved this is bad for the sport and a level playing field for both player and teams to compete. Team ownership and players ideally should want what is best for all concerned.

LOL Yzerman was involved with a good team in Tampa that won nothing and In fact lost to the Blackhawks and their GM Stan Blowman... and the tall foreheads on this site tell us Blowman is a bum.

Don't let facts stand in the way of a good narrative pallie. Stan was merely a maintainer. If he were a truly great GM, he would have traded the Core so he could try to win with HIS team.

I'm not sure how you can criticize Stevie Y and give bowman kudos.
Stevie Y did a tremendous job putting together Tampa and quite honestly, Chicago's past experience played more of a beneficial factor in that series to help them win.

Imo Stan was gifted a young , deeply stocked and talented team with a gifted hall of fame coach, what big bold serious moves did Stan ever make throughout his time here that has truly impacted Chicago? He handed out more bad contracts , term and salary along with NMC like candy , shipped out so much depth and draft picks for mediocre at best rental players , than any youngn talent he did have he traded them away due to his inability to manage contracts and salaries knowing full well Chicago had cap issues.

Talon and company buildt the foundation , bowman just rode it taking the credit.

Did the NHL announce yet that Chicago's first goal belongs to Kane? It deflected off of the Nash defender's stick, never touching Cat's.

Agreed. I grew up in Toronto and I loved the Toronto/Chicago rivalry. I was able to watch the Hawks a lot which helped contribute to me becoming a fan.

The goal is still listed as DeBrincat's. Kane has enough goals/points, he can concede some to the Cat.

I don't get some of you. You say proudly say Stan was gifted a young, deeply talented team (therefore excusing the results because he didn't do the work to get the team there), yet you can say Q is a hall of fame coach. He was gifted an even more stocked team, so his results should be excused.

It didn't - it hit off the bottom of 12's right glove. Replay in slo-mo is pretty clear one the goal video in Gamecentre it is the one near the end.
