Guy played the whole OT except for one shift by Murphy.

Oh I agree. Look at his career shooting percentage. It’s down substantially. That’s the tell. He’s hit posts and he’s been stoned by goalies more than all the other hawks combined.
- SteveRain

I think ADB is having a "Junior Slump", lol why other stars have their "sophomore slump".......

I also think teams are starting to understands ADB's game, but IMO I just think it will make him stronger.... This season may be a setback, BUT - I think the kid will learn and will "flip the script" on them..... Yea, I think the kid could be the next Blackhawk since Roenick to score 50 in a season......

Good point! Look at the teams who fancied themselves as contenders and who haven’t won a thing and whose windows are shut, Vancouver, Winnipeg, dallas, Nashville etc. And yet all we do on this board is criticize the President, GM and core of the hawks who got it done three times. We don’t seem to understand how good we have it.

Think we've discussed this before...who am I kidding, of course we have, we're the posse; but, it's funny and sad all at the same time that some of the armchair GM's here finally bought into this team after the 3rd Cup.

Crow has not allowed more than 3 goals since December 23. I might have an unpopular opinion, but I want to see Crawford around Chicago until he retires.

Not sure why most people don't just ignore those people. Armchair GMs and haters will always find a reason to dislike the team. Let them.

I’m joshing ya. The guy is a beast and regardless of his skating stride he’s been a beast for over ten seasons. And along with Kane, Hossa, Toews and Quenneville a sure bet for the hall of fame

If Lehner and Gus both sit Sunday I think both will be gone by the TDL (if not sooner).

Well then...I share your unpopular opinion. It's not that I don't like Lehner, but I think Crow on a couple year team friendly deal would be the way to go next year.

I agree. But that doesn’t mean giving him a crazy long term contract.

Last time Stan offered 6x6M
in true Stan fashion, his next one needs to take inflation into account

Oh definitely. I believe Crawford wants to stick around as well, and I think he's going to sign for a friendly deal for 3 years and then retire as a god damn Blackhawks legend

Did you used to post under the avatar "Mexicohawk"? Your profile says you joined in 2016. I'm terrible at math but 20-16=4 right? 4<10?
- HawkintheD

No, I posted as HawksFan28 here since, what 2005 perhaps? then left and was highly active on HFboards as HawksFan2828 from 2004 to the president....

My point is I have been around the Blackhawks Community for 20+ years...

Oh yeah, and I was Hawksfan28 way back in the day on the Chicagoblackhawks.com message board back in the late 90's and early 2000's.....

I remember how people here lost their minds and generally pissed and moaned ad nauseam when that deal was signed.

Think it turned out a fair bit better than pretty good.

I honestly love Lehner as a person and a goalie. But I think he was brought in to make sure Crow didn't have to over-exert himself and risk injury again. Crawford seems healthy now and as much as I like Lehner... Crawford is back at an elite level, so it's time to groom another goalie as his backup until he retires. Just my opinion

I don't know about 3-years...... It's possible, tho I see a 2-year 4 million dollar deal (2per).......

Although we will not make the dance this year, at least that should be your thought process if you are a realist, I have enjoyed this year much more than the last two. I see a team with some good young players, a team that will get better as these young guys gain more experience, and eventually fill out as they become men. Another good pick this year will add to ADB, Dach, Boqvist, Mitchell, Strome, Kubalik, Nylander, Beaudin, and so on. I understand that we will not keep them all, but we will add on. Then we have guys like Toews, Kane, and Keith to show them how to win, I like what’s coming. For those in denial, the Hawks have been rebuilding for two years now, and Stan is the builder, whether you like him or not, he has his stamp on this team, and we will know how good or bad of a job he did in 2021/22 not in 2020.

2 year is possible, but not at 2M. Cam Ward got 3M. I'm projecting a 3/12 for Crow personally ... Based on no factual evidence and literally just my hunch

Strome should never see the ice in OT.
- 67hawks

I definitely agree with you. My point is that if Strome is looking for a Debrincat like contract , I'd move him in a heartbeat. If he can't get on the ice in OT because of his lack of speed, he certainly doesn't deserve the big bucks. Dach is our #2C next year and he should bring back some value.

Strome and Saad to Detroit for Anthony Mantha. Just a dream !!!

Well, I think it was a lot more difficult for Ward to move to Chicago than Crow to stay in Chicago..... He doesn't have to move his family and go through all the nonsense with relocating a family..... I mean if I was a pro hockey player that would be a HUGE difference maker if I was to make a decision.... I don't think 500k or a million extra on a contract for me to sell my house, move my life, take my kids from their schools and friends and whatever for a year would be worth it..... I would just retire, but if I got an offer from my "home team" I would take it if I felt I could play.

That would put him over 38 the final year and he is not the picture of health.

I'd think you could do better than Mantha with that deal. Also DET would likely want one of our young dmen vs Saad.

I doubt Ward completely uprooted his family for a one year deal?

Stan will play hardball with Strome and hold to his number the same way he did with Perlini only it won't be for $700k. I could see $2.5 -3.5M x 2-3yrs the way this year has gone. Yes I was in the camp at the beginning of the season he would get big $'s but he has not had a great year and does not project above a 3C on a good team.

I thought Ward had a special needs child. If that was the case I'm sure he moved the family to Chicago.
