Of defensemen with offensive prowess, who are AVAILABLE at a low cap hit, who is better than Gus ? Lightning can use him for a depth piece. Yeah they can stand pat, but this is a player who hardly cost anything so why not ? What do they need a late 1st rounder for, when WE need it.

The Lightning already have a defenceman in Kevin Shattenkirk who, like Gus, has no idea how to play defence. And Jan Rutta to back him up as a defensive disaster.

If Stan can figure out a way to pick up a 2nd round pick for Gus in a straight up deal or by packaging him with somebody else that works for me.

But I would rather have a live body in return - maybe somebody like Taylor Raddysh.

With Gus not playing friday night, I would think that a trade is imminent. Let's just hope its a 1st or 2nd. Or its a pretty good player as you suggest. I always have a great time on draft night, so the more picks, the merrier it is for me. LOL. And if we pick #7, I hope that Marco Rossi is there.
