When you have a roster like Tampa ..... a goalie replacement shouldnt be too hard to find.
Heck the rangers have 3 good goalies right now. Henrik makes 9 mill to be a bench warmer - Sabretooth9
Pens rolled goalies as well. Won a cup with Murray. While flury sat. Lose flury in the expansion draft and now the pens have Murray and jary who will both be rfa’s and desmith in the minors who I don’t THINK will be a bad backup. But I honestly haven’t seen a lot of him.
They will have some decisions to make this off season between Murray and desmith and what’s coming back from ir, their cap management could be interesting to watch... |

The Red Wings could very well have the same issue as the Sabres long term. It's not as easy as people think to lose on purpose and just turn things around.
Ottawa is approaching it the right way. - kingcong39
When I posted that roster I was thinking that UFA's are certainly not coming here and trading our crap for legit players that will help now is a near impossibility. It is what it is so why not give the kids the opportunity, let them grow together. It will be painful for a few more years so what's the difference over the last 9 years. Collect a couple top 10 picks along the way. Sucks but that's where this organization is at the moment. |

That's why you draft a goaltender every year. |

I don't believe it's nearly as dire as you wrote above. Skinner and Johansson both signed as free agents.
If you mean Pietrangelo and Hall wouldn't sign, I would mostly agree, but if you mean players like Hoffman, Toffoli, Dadonov, Soderberg, etc. won't sign, I strongly disagree.
They have assets to make hockey trades, using an array of Ristolainen, Montour, Pilut, and Miller, along with picks and prospects. The problem is hockey trades are needed, and Botterill is obviously gun shy about making a mistake. It's the key reason he needs to go. |

Isn’t Pittsburgh’s first gone for zucker?
Sheary for bjustead after the game. The jersey swap commences.

Bjugstad is on IR with surgery due to an injury and yes an injured player can be traded it is unlikely that Bjugstad would be traded due to unpredictable recovery from his injury. |

He’s skating and has been for a few weeks. He will be a Sabre. It’s the botts way.

The Penguins have no 1st or 2nd round pick this year, unless they miss the playoffs, in which case their 1st next year goes to the Wild and they keep this year's. |

I certainly hope you're right. I don't think another miss in the playoffs is gonna entice free agents. Trades will be a challenge imo. |

Derek Grant has 14 goals this season.
How ofter do players after they move on from the sabres do better
Watch Larsson get 15-20 goals somewhere else along with Girgs. |

Pay them and they will come.
There's also the Ontario proximity re: Toffoli and Hoffman.

Wrong.
3 years....So there is a time limit to erasing the past? I didn't know. So after 6 years they are no longer a previous sabres player.
He played 40 games and scored ZERO goals. |

It’s the buffalo way. Put player out of position and too high in the lineup and then run em out of town.
We just haven’t had the talent and right management for about a decade.
From an owner getting way too involved in the beginning of his tenure, to inexperienced gm’s and now having to build the depth of the organization from the ground up. It’s been a pretty solid fuster cluck.
With that, for every Byron or grant that carve out an ok career there are plenty of Ghule and nylanders out there.
I do like some of the moves botts has made. And I like some of the depth he has brought back.
I do question some of his moves and I’m still on the poho wagon. Of course with pegs coming out and saying no hiring of a poho. I’ve shifted to Ralph as poho, it’s a promotion. And then call gallant. Lavi. Lindy. Teddy...
Of course it’s buffalo. And if we were smart enough to rearrange the titanic deck chairs, the pegs move would be to bring Taylor up to be the head coach. And so the wheel turns.
