How can anyone besides 9 and 26 be safe, what has this team done since Pegula ? 3 GM's, 5 coaches nobody should be safe. Question Pegula should be asking is, what the hell is going on here ? and he's not asking. You pretty much can say that Botterill is running the show since he only answers to Pegula.

Get rid of ALL the UFA's and some of the RFA's like EROD. I am sick and tired of seeing the same bums under perform year after year. If we are going to stink next year, might as well bring in some new bums so at least we can complain about them.

Fighting is a non factor now guys like tk and Brady are different players we need those not Ryan Reeves

Everyone is entitled to have there opinion, while I don’t agree with it I sure do understand it...
9 years of suck.... everyone has a right to female dog. And again we see little effort of trying to get better... drafting is a great way of getting great players but the odds of getting players with this group has been not good enough... it’s easy to say, stay the course and draft players but you have to draft correctly... mitts my or may not pan out but you have to find other players in the draft and they have shown almost nothing in that area...

Look at the bills and the players beane is finding 4, 5, 6 rounds into the draft Every year they are contributing. Yeah the nfl is a different animal but we can’t only have 1st round picks turn into a good player. That is what’s turning the bills around. Most fan here don’t believe for one second the current gm is capable of doing that...me included.


This team is soft they play soft it shows in the effort on a regular bases... we get the great games where they fly around and hit and back check ( Toronto), then we get the suck from the Ottawa game. We have two guys that play physical Ristolainen and lazar. And to some extent jack. Sorry but you can’t win like that.no I’m not saying we needs guy that can fight... we needs guy that are hard to play against... big difference.

The core of every cup contender is through the draft. Free agency and trades supplement the draft picks. Until we draft well we aren’t getting anywhere. Pray to the lotto gods, pray that the amateur scouts get it right.

Hopefully McCabe, Larry, Girgs, Sheary, Vesey, lull in a few mid round picks and we can spend our cap space wisely.

Maybe Botts deals Risto at the deadline but I doubt it. It’s most likely an offseason trade if anything.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they try to resign him, though who knows if he’s interested. He’s played better than his numbers indicate. His +\- is impressive

He's on pace for 13 goals and 14 assists.

He's been bad defensively per the advanced metrics for his entire career.

He's a blah, does not move the needle type player who is likely going to make $3M per on a multi year deal.

I'd rather allocate that money plus more if needed to get an impactful forward.

There's something to the methodology of picking high point producing forwards and defensemen in the later rounds (3rd round and later; hell, every round), as those seem to have a much greater chance of becoming an impact NHL player than the players that are big and strong but don't really produce points.

If anyone wants to see the impact of a good goaltender, look at the Rangers last 10 games.

Lot of talk about toughness. It's not a tough league.

In my opinion, Jack is a tough guy in today's NHL. Risto, I am sure, is a tough guy in today's NHL. Evander Kane is a tough guy in today's NHL. Ovechkin is so tough in today's NHL, he has a don't F with me aura around him like he's Scott Stevens.

Personally, I think 80% of the league are wimps. Guy's who would have to seriously change their mindset (not to say they couldn't) to play in any other era of the NHL. It would be entertaining if all of these guys were as skilled as Patrick Kane, but 1% of the league is that skilled yet they all try to play a skilled game.

Obviously the Sabres need higher skill guys, but I'm not sure they need any more toughness than they have. Nor am I sure it's out there to be found in today's NHL.
