he had chemistry with sobotka
so flip sobotka and johansson
at least then you had a true center
another wasted season - homiedclown
I think the miscalculation on Johansson kinda slides under the radar but it was quite the misfire.
I still think he'd make a good 3rd line winger with actual offensive upside, but they paid him to be a stop gap 2C and idk that you want to go into the off season planning to have the worlds most expensive bottom six. |

when was casey given a shot with them
casey had the most talent
e-rod, sobotka, larsson, asplund
all of those are better options then a winger
the coach went the veino/coho route to start the season, team played well for a dozen games and then he did not want to deviate from it
the last 38 games, the team has the third worst record in the nhl, fact
so because he caught lightning in a bottle, with good special teams to start the season, he should get a pass for being the third worst coach for the last 4 months?
I mean on one hand, everyone says he had nothing to work with
well he did, and he leaned on vets
and if you believe he had nothing to work with, then really the case is made to fire botts and then let the new gm figure out what to do with ralph
three years in, time to stop blaming murray
team is no better now then it was in 16-17 - homiedclown
Good post and yes I see what your saying.
But, casey, erod, sobatka, larrson and asplund
Seriously.....
Casey did this to himself
Sobatka has missed most of the season
Erod - seriously
Larrson has played well at center
Asplund is in Rochester developing , definitely not nhl 2c material this year |

Appreciate it ! - Michael Ghofrani
given the bad results for the past decade with this team
is it the players, coaching, gm's or ownership
no matter what they try, it's one step forward and 2 steps back
team seems disinterested
in game adjustments are few and far between
goalies getting shelled and not yanked mid game
gm sits on hands
19 times out of 20 we know the outcome 10 minutes into the game
very frustrating |

the fancy stats, showed decent chemistry with sobotka, and skinner
sobotka is more of a center then johansson
casey has the skills, should have been given a look when the team was slumping in mid november as second line center, if nothing else, to try to save the season
e-rod had over .5 ppg in 17-18 as a center
when the team put up the white flag in mid november, really no lineup adjustments were made, other then dressing 7 d men once sobotka went down |

Is part of the failure the gm and what Krueger been dealt?
Lack of talent? Type of player botts acquired?
Cant make soft players har to play against.
Krueger's scratched players to get more out of them
Unlike previous coaches

There isn't much forward thinking in the organization. You look at teams soaring ahead..Carolina, Colorado, Toronto before Andersen had his powers stolen, Arizona, they all flew past the Sabres because they were willing to move on from traditional ideas that weren't working and at the very least explore new ones.
Its been three GMs and what four coaches trying to solve the Ristolainen conundrum? Not to say all the moves have been bad but they've missed out on some pretty good value in the draft, trades and free agency because they seem to have no interest in looking there. I think thats where the change has to start. |

Botts sat on his hands this year when the team struggled and he sat on his hands last year when the team collapsed
We all watched it go down but big head was too scared to get this team help. |
