It's very bizarre.

If they want to spread out the scoring, why is Reinhart with Jack? Wouldn't you move Reinhart off of that line to create balance? Again, very bizarre what is going on with Skinner. The coaches aren't helping him at all.

Anyone think it might be are Captain that has any word in this.

Hutton honestly has costed us 6-8 points in the standings in addition to the Olofsson and Skinner injuries.

We really aren’t this bad. Might as well go full tanko at this point though. Picking 12th isn’t bad but when top 7 is in our grasp what good does that do ?

Bonino is not a 2nd line center.
- SABRES 89

And yet he produces more than Ryan Johansen,
in a more difficult role (zone starts), with worse linemates
And at HALF the cost

Now respond to the rest of my post please

I have several times in recent days

this team needs to trade 2 or 3 players, picks and prospects to get a few IMPACT players

2, 3 or 4 for 1 trades

not vesey's, millers, johansson, sheary, etc

this team needs to add 2 impact players

and find a way to keep eichel, dahlin, joker, reinhart, skinner and olofsson

and probably keep cozens

they need a young second line player that can make an impact with upside

and either a second player for the second line, or what I believe the second biggest need, a top 4 LD

your gonna have to part with a few d prospects, maybe casey, maybe a first round pick and pieces like risto, montour, johansson, etc

I see these trades where people want to move risto or reinhart for 3 parts, we need the opposite

I don’t disagree

But i wonder how you & others would feel about Botts if he made a trade or 2 like this last summer for PK or Kessel??

Again...
Where’s the credit for not making the horrible choices that MOST PPL HERE wanted him to do??

On Johansen? I agree😁😁😁

U want better than Bonino?
Ok
But that’s NOT Ryan Johansen
He’s an overrated, overpaid, underachiever

And i guarantee they regret it

Also...
i laid it out very clearly
Those aren’t numbers i made up
They aren’t opinions
The 3C is out producing the 1C
That’s just a fact

Palat, Gourde, T.Johnson & Kilorn all have NTC
So does Stamkos
Crazily enough.... Kucherov & Point do NOT

But i believe you’re right
Somehow they’ll get a couple of those guys to agree to be traded

- jdfitz77

How's this for a conversation? "Well Yanni, Andre, Tyler (insert name here) you can take the huge pay cut and play in Syracuse for the Crunch, or you can take no pay cut and play for Florida, Nashville or Dallas and keep your current salary. Will you waive no trade now?" People waive no trade clause all the time. Gives them some say over where they will go, but if you're not wanted anymore you want to go somewhere where you can play. Granted, they have to clear waivers if sent down and may not. But, would you lose Gourde for nothing to clear the cup space to sing Cirelli and have Coleman fill Gourde's spot for a third of the money? Organizationally all day long. Especially with his production this year versus his cap hit.

That combined with Fiala for Granlund and Girard for Turris is main examples on why trades to “win now” more often than not blow up in your face.

When Poille is unemployed in a few months he’ll have a lot of time to mull those over.

Yes he can, and hopefully he's ready to help next year. But we can use all the good hockey players we can get.

I like Johansen a lot if they take 2 million off I think he would be perfect here..

He is a elite passer if he got skinner and another scoring winger he get 80pts easy

Except there is NO PAYCUT
The NHL team saves roughly 1mil on the Cap
The remainder of the Cap# counts towards the Cap
And the player still makes 100% of their salary

The thing you’re talking about is players on 2way contracts, which none of them are

I agree
Johansen isn’t a good player though
He’s playing 1C being out produced by their 3C,
who plays WAY more defensively, with worse linemates, against better competition

And Johansen costs 8mil per
He’s got 33pts this year

I’m sorry... but i just don’t get it
He’s being universally criticized for his lack of effort & underperformance

I’m not saying i want Cozens at 2C
But i also don’t wanna bring in a guy for 6yrs at 8mil per who is underachieving
Doesn’t make sense to me bc i believe Cozens will be ready for 2C sooner than later

Would make much more sense to bring in a placeholder than to devote all that Cap to a guy who is failing in his role
