The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Phil Varone from Montreal.
Varone has four goals and 14 points in 27 AHL games this season. The 29-year-old forward has 97 career NHL games under his belt.

I hope Botterill shares this notion. Although he may be more physically ready than Mitzy to play that position, let’s not find out. |

You can probably say that about 75% of the Sabres roster. |

Why in the world would we want Louis Domingue? Crazy talk.
As for Cirelli, Tampa not letting him go. Will make room in offseason to sign him. Guys like Gourde, Maroon, and even Johnson or Palat will go out the door to make room for his signing new deal He, Point and Sergachev the young nucleus to follow Stamkos, Kucherov and Hedman. Doesn't that make you sick to read? Such a well constructed team compared to poope show in Buffalo. Every guy listed above, even the ones they will move out would be dramatic upgrade to Sabres roster.
Don't believe in "the process", but do believe in stability. GM JB should get more time. Every GM whiffs on some hits on some. My major concern is that there doesn't seem be a willingness to be bold to remake the organization. Constant turn over at GM and coach is not going to make it better if you just bring in more of the same. |

We don't, and I don't
I was simply expressing, if a team wants him, they can grab him for free without having to make a trade because he's on waivers. |

And why would Gourde, Johnson and/ or Palat agree to a trade? Leave a team as good as Tampa and likely taking a pay cut because of the state tax differential. 6, 5 and 3 years remaining on their respective contracts.

But then they have to keep him up with the big club for a while before they can send him down. A team like Colorado looking for an insurance goalie wants a guy they can call up in an emergency, not a guy for their roster today.
Edit: he was last traded for a conditional 7th round pick, not a huge cost to trade for. |

They don't have to "agree to trades". Not every player in league has NT clause in contract. Where did you get idea that players have say as to where and when they get traded? For the most part only top end guys with leverage (See Unrestricted) in negotiations get that protection. Out of those, would guess only Johnson may have. Sure as the sun comes up, guys are getting moved to make room for Cirelli, Bringing in Coleman with another year at $1.8 already makes Gourde a sure goner in offseason. |

when was casey given a shot with them
casey had the most talent
e-rod, sobotka, larsson, asplund
all of those are better options then a winger
the coach went the veino/coho route to start the season, team played well for a dozen games and then he did not want to deviate from it
the last 38 games, the team has the third worst record in the nhl, fact
so because he caught lightning in a bottle, with good special teams to start the season, he should get a pass for being the third worst coach for the last 4 months?
I mean on one hand, everyone says he had nothing to work with
well he did, and he leaned on vets
and if you believe he had nothing to work with, then really the case is made to fire botts and then let the new gm figure out what to do with ralph
three years in, time to stop blaming murray
team is no better now then it was in 16-17 - homiedclown

Palat, Gourde, T.Johnson & Kilorn all have NTC
So does Stamkos
Crazily enough.... Kucherov & Point do NOT
But i believe you’re right
Somehow they’ll get a couple of those guys to agree to be traded |

Hmmm. Well...Kaiser’s guy Jason “Kransdorf” is still available. |
