Howden - is he top line talent, not yet can he develop, dunno but you really seem fixated on him
Hajek - again I haven't seen enough to pass judgement

Do you see a shred of evidence that Brett Howden is top line talent? And they traded a first-line (okay, first-pairing in this case) player to get him. Not to mention JT Miller, who has 22 goals for Vancouver as I write this. Of course, they got Hajek in that trade as well. Speaking of which, you haven't seen enough of him? And gee, why is that? Maybe because he's playing in the MINOR LEAGUES?
And that's the point. THE PLAYERS THEY ARE TRADING ARE BETTER THAN THE PLAYERS THEY ARE GETTING BACK. The fact that the players they are getting back are young does not automatically make them totally awesome. THAT's what most of you don't seem to understand.
And that's part of a rebuild, too. Knowing what players are worth keeping and having your young players supplement and learn from. Not indiscriminately trading for youth for the sake of trading for youth.

The idea is to maximize return for a player we might not be able to afford. I like Kreider and want him to stay, but cap crunch.
I was 21-22 when I came out. If I was watching that at that age I would have ate a large sausage. I was trying to not get incarcerated at that age, or have any illegitimate bastard kids thankfully I couldn’t get other men pregnant - mdw7413
