I think the Bladder is under contract in the good 'ol KHL.

However, I have heard a rumor (according to my unnamed source) that Ville Pokka could become available and would be Stan's zero-hour add before the deadline closes.

One could only hope.

Yeah, the moves which will be made or not be made, depend largely upon whether Lehner signs. If he has not been signed by now, then I figure it wont happen. Stan must be listening to offers and we still have a few days to go. The points you have listed about Gus, and the Dmen who have been traded recently, says to me that Gus can bring back a 2nd rounder. And maybe more. Just because some people on this board think that he is only worth a 6th or 7th rounder, does not mean that is his true worth in the hockey front offices. Although the math says Hawks not 100% out of playoffs, it should mean 99.9%. I do expect Stan to make some moves soon.

17% probability of the Blackhawks making the playoffs (it was almost 40% before the 5 game road trip).

In Blowman's finest hour just prior to the deadline, he will:

- Re-sign Gus for $3+M AAV for another 3 years
- Fail to re-sign Lehner as well as fail to trade either him or Crawford, netting ZERO
- Re-sign an aging and dizzy-prone Crawford for $5.5M for another 3 years
- Announce he was re-upped as GM for another X# of years
- Confirm his reoccurring potato chip order with Amazon, upping its frequency to daily
- Make the "big" trade announcement that Dylan Sikura was traded for a 6th rd pick

Call me paranoid, but after watching all the true contenders loading up on defenseman and Gustafsson still here, I have to worry/wonder:

He isn't an easy fit with many teams that got other defensemen in that last few?

He is not a fit for Edmionton who lost Kelfblom and called up Bouchard to attempt to fill?

Or they really think it is important to stand pat because they STILL are delusional that they are in the running to fill a final playoff spot?

Or (most paranoid and important) that Gus may be resigning b/c the kid in Denver is walking?

For a team needing that mobile PP/big shot D from the point, Gus fits that. I have no doubt he gets moved.

I thought all indications mitchell is signing with the hawks maybe one reason joki got traded to make room for mitchell. If mitchell does not sign the bowman again did not read the situation right just like the hayes situation. Just my opinion.

You forgot Blowman will need to call Daddy and ask if he can make those deals first. Wish we had Uncle Dale back. The team has been in such disarray since potato chip Blowman came riding into Chicagoland on Daddy’s coattails.

All true Paul.
Scottak pointed out I forgot the NMC. Yes. I just assumed everyone knew it was a given.

Wonder if anyone has thought the only reason Crawford has been as good as he's been this year (versus last yr) is that Lehner has "pushed" him and he has felt some heat. Highly doubt he'd have had this season if Delia or some other not-ready-for primetime G was sharing the pipes.

Just waiting for next season, when he's been re-upped for that $5.5 for another 3 with another NMC. And Delia or Lankinen backs him up. Wanna bet we see a decline in 50's play?

And it all goes back to meddling McD who’s more interested in a good story, the Blowmans, than a real GM, Uncle Dale, who has no media cachet. What a messed up organ-I-zation!

Don't know if I agree with that. I think was just rounding back into form this year. He is not a spring chicken anymore. Not saying competition is not good, but CC is a pretty good netminder in his right. I expect to see CC resigned for another year or two. Lehner will be gone. Just do not see him staying around. With playoff teams needing help in the net, he will fetch a nice return.

Talking about an exclamation point
Talking about if Mitchell walks
Cue Ron Santo infamous call of Brant Brown dropping fly ball (mifing a fairly routine play) in Cubs fall from pennant contention. It was late '90s I believe

But Blackhawks never were a serious playoff contender this season. Bowman has two key pieces to sign in Lehner and Mitchell. They may be too price high or indifferent to playing here. Tough decisions, Bowman. Where else would you get twosome like them? Better sign them if you don't want to begin collecting unemployment checks.

The kid from Denver has two options after this season. Sign with the Hawks or return to Denver for his senior season. On the broadcast last week Dave Starman said more than once that Mitchell will be with the Hawks very soon. Starman is pretty tuned into the college scene.

If??? Don’t you mean when?

Your analogy of dropping routine fly balls is apropos, Blowman has done nothing but drop fly balls and will continue doing so until he’s replaced with a real GM.
