Every so often it has to be demonstrated that 19 year old defenceman don't belong in the NHL. The men start playing for keeps in February, March and April.

as they introduce more younger kids it's not going to get much better.

Amazing how many forgot how bad 2 and 7 were, when they first came up.

What IS important is that Bowman find these young kids a coach who can help mold them into better players and communicates that message so these kids don't lose their confidence, etc.

Well folks, give me your best "fake trade" proposals because this team has to 100% be a seller now.

DM me your best offers. I'll be putting a blog together tomorrow.

When that many goals go under and through a goalie his fundamentals are suspect.

multiple games in a row he's not getting his stick down in the butter fly...too much to the side.....almost like a half ass approach.

That OR he's completely off OR both......

love the passion....but for the 3rd straight this year this team isn't good enough.

Everyone here can pretend they are some hockey buddha who knows exactly what ails them, but they are going through the motions on multiple levels and the results show night in and night out. May get the rare good game like earlier this year @ Vegas where everything clicks….but the team as currently built has ZERO margin for error.

ANother game at home and another egg.....people can female dog about debrincat or gus or maata or smith or lehner all they want.....their PP is a cluster F and their home record is a disgrace.

Been a fan since 1985, since I learned how to skate. Murray Bannerman was my hero but so was Denis Savard.... Given all these years - this team isn't done yet.... I blame JC and his idiot NHL rookie coaching strategies instead of the team....

I understand plenty will disagree with my assessments but I honestly believe Marc Crawford would be a better coach with this current roster...... JC is a great coach that can develop young players but the NHL is a different situation.

Now they look a lot like early last year and early this year. UGLY, SLOPPY, UNDISCIPLINED, CARELESS, WITHOUT PASSION. I don’t blame Colliton 100%. But I am ready to say “See ya!”
- -Doh-

frustration setting in...they know the clock is about to hit midnight.

Big difference between coach, veteran guys talking big game and game results.

IS what it is.....just hope they maximize the return they can get for anyone and everyone on Monday.

Saw McKenzie said Hawks still "aren't committed sellers" which is frightening. I don't know what the hell else they need to see.

He also said Lehner, Crawford, Gustafsson as on there, and even Saad....god help this board if they trade Saad.…...

So who gets the bigger contract Strome or Kubalik?
- BetweenTheDots

Kubalik
I am biased. I do not want any slow skaters. Even when some less fleet have been ok.

If you are referring to an NHL coach, thats the hard way. Because of all of the travel and # of games, NHL teams really don't practice very much. The AHL is where the player development should occur. Or in Bovqist's case possibly in London playing for Dale Hunter.

And dominated again tonight on home ice. We should get another laugher Friday night with Nashville coming to town.

It painfully obvious that that Colliton has this team regressing to finish the year. Is anybody up top taking notice ????

His decisions on PP personnel is a joke.
5 left-handed shooters is painfully wrong for an NHL team. I don't know if I can ever remember that being done before... effectively anyway.

This team is just too slow. Strome, Maata, Murphy, Carpenter, Smith, all just consistently get beat to loose pucks, and not to even mention Seabrook and often times Keith as well.

I don't know what their direction is for the final few years of Kane and Toews but I'm sure they're not happy with yet another lost season.

- Hawkytalk

On that note I’m taking a break from whatever that was tonight

An organizational overall is due & coming

By June it’s all going to be full rebuild mode with new personnel running this ship - mark my words

This team is done....they have multiple teams to leap by, they have shown the ability to NOT string together enough consistency to warrant any type of monetary investment to add this and RISK losing multiple guys for absolutely nothing....and for what?

Met Murray Bannerman at the Jewel on Naper Blvd back in the day.

I dont' know who JC has developed or what he is or isn't.....but it's a moot point. I don't see them relieving him of his duties. Not unless Bowman goes with him....and this organization, right or wrong, doesn't make decisions like that easily.

Teams like Boston and Pittsburgh have managed to retool and stay in the window a little longer, while the Kings and Hawks haven't been able to. IS what it is.....relish the previous decade and realize they probably haven't hit rock bottom yet.

Did you really use Jeff Osborn from the rink as a true source? 😂😂😂😂🤦🏻‍♂️

No. That guy has zero contacts. I’m surprised you surprised that considering who his partner in crime is on the rink.

I’ve played at Canlan in romeoville with Osborn. He’s a beer league goalie. He’s not a trade breaker.

Mercy. 🤦🏻‍♂️

- SteveRain

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - I signed up just to laugh at this! I’ve been reading this page for years Steve again and that’s the best/funniest post I’ve ever read on here!! I played with Jeff for a number of years playing inline. Good guy, worse goalie and definitely not a trade beaker is right! Lmao

That's a great point......I just don't want to see them bring these young kids up, they make mistakes (going to happen) they get scratched and then rinse and repeat.....some may be too good for the AHL or OHL and need to learn at the NHL level....and you will need a patient coaching staff for that, and veterans willing to help these kids along.

Crawford and Keith keep talking about a cup run, but realistically how likely is that in the next 2-3 years when at best Keith is maybe serviceable? Crawford at 37-38?

So while it's nice to remember these guys and want to protect them/keep them around, its best they are moved along...unless 50 is willing to take a discount on a year to year basis....but again, if they are rebuilding why are they going to start him 50-60 games a year like he wants without seeing other organizational options?

Keith? IF he can teach a Boqvist or Mitchell or whoever else comes up....great. Finish your deal. If he doesn't want to do it, do him right and send him somewhere where the organization gets the best return and he gets another shot at a cup.

Well according to the gms here he was NEVER resigning here......

Guy has a man crush with Kane. Think people underestimate that...once he was dealt he was never coming back....

NO point rehashing.....glad he's having massive success. Amazing talent.

I was a former goalie, I'm almost 40 so it's over for me.... I can play an occasional beer-league game but, yea.. Physical work and goaltending doesn't work your body too well....

Wish I could play, but I don't want major surgery.....

- Savard2Secord

I would like to have played also but bad back and two bad knees prevented me from playing just some street hockey with friends in the past.

patience....it's going to be a bit.....

Im not the president of the Stan Bowman fan club, but I think he gets the deadline, the draft, the offseason and see where this team is come the holidays.

Either we will see a massive sell off...doubtful, or a continual tinker and Stan trying to juggle the pieces of veterans and younger guys while not destroying his LT cap flexibility.

That's all I care about....don't destroy your cap flexibility 3-5 years from now by tying up guys who won't be 1/2 their value then that they are today.
