around here does...
usually my wife's by my over involvement in hockey, when she expects w o r k around here done...
btw this draft class is one I really like, but you haven't heard that from me before right?
We can ooooh and aaaah about the top pick and that really strong top 7 after that, and the kid most likely to drop and be a star in "little" Marco Rossi, but in my humble opinion, there is a strong top twenty.
and guys not in my top 20, a group of defenders second level forwards are plenty good players too.
My point is that whether the Blackhawks are fortunate to select in the top 8 or later there is lots of upside in the guys there and less "iffy-ness than I usually feel about the success of this players...
so not having to tradeaway that first rounder to bolster a contending roster has a positive side especially with this draft class. - wiz1901
Looking forward to your updates on individuals leading up to the draft.

Just to take the temp of the board here. What would everyone say about Strome for Danault straight up? - Chunk
Why would Montreal do that? |

Where are you slotting Danault? 3C and then Carpenter at 4C?
that makes Kampf worthless because Dach is your 2
I am not a huge Strome fan. He has some skill, shows flashes, but like many he is way too inconsistent right now. I am OK watching him grow, god willing, IF his upcoming deal is closer to 3.5 AAV. I just don't see the justification paying him when he ghosts his teammates out there far too much and is painfully slow for a guy that to my knowledge hasn't had any major lower body injuries. |

Because we want them to is always the reason. |

CAR playing the Rangers in a couple of days. NSH vs the Hawks on Friday. Maybe some advanced scouting. Most of the rest maybe looking at Krieder. Which of the above want Gus as a rental? DET scout in town for some deep dish.

Someone is going to overpay for him and then compound it by re-signing to a contract. |

Just whatever that ankle injury was...
I’d put him 3C. Kampf and Carpenter on the 4th together. I still consider Strome a C. The reason that I asked the question is that Danault is help is pretty high regard around here. I was trying to see what people thought about Strome’s potential bs Danault’s current level (which I figure is about his ceiling). |

Strome has more offensive ability. In every other area, Danault is superior. |

Unfortunately, not enough slots on the 4th line, and Entwistle is coming, plus a few others.
With all the trade talk about the other chips, guys like Carpenter are valuable at the deadline, for vet depth on a cup contender. I’d be shocked if Carpenter is still a Blackhawk next Tuesday. |

What are we even talking about? Goalie is 3rd most important position in sports behind QB and Ace Starting Pitcher. Should do whatever it takes to lock up Lehner long-term. Let Corey ride off into sunset or trade him for anything you can get. Should also be selling Gus, Kampf, Caguila, Matta and guys like Smith or Shaw if anyone is big enough sucker enough to take those salaries on.
Truth be told if you had to trade Saad to keep Lehner I would do that too. If this is a rebuild which we all know it is, first piece to secure is your franchise goalie. Love Crow but he has a two-year shelf life on the outside. - ChiTownHawkFan
That is pretty much the dumbest wat to rebuild a team. Goalie is the last piece needed after you establish the rest of the team. Where have you been the last ten years? |

Everyone talking about adding a potentially great 3C (Danault), but I think we have one already... he and his bestie just need to get there $hit together |

In Blowman's finest hour just prior to the deadline, he will:
- Re-sign Gus for $3+M AAV for another 3 years
- Fail to re-sign Lehner as well as fail to trade either him or Crawford, netting ZERO
- Re-sign an aging and dizzy-prone Crawford for $5.5M for another 3 years
- Announce he was re-upped as GM for another X# of years
- Confirm his reoccurring potato chip order with Amazon, upping its frequency to daily
- Make the "big" trade announcement that Dylan Sikura was traded for a 6th rd pick - savvyone-1
I’m ok with the the idea of re-signing Gus, as long as the deal has significant term and a full NMC. |
